I couldnt take brewey tour, but I can still recommend this place if someone is interested in having some good local beer. I had Maneblusser Beer which means moon extinguisher beer, a local beer. Its a must try thing in Mechelen ( do read about the story behind this name ).

One of our first beer tours in the Brussels region. Outstanding explanation of the building and brewing process. Family enjoyed it and I have two teen age boys that asked questions and the tour guide answered. Beer was very good. Will take family when they come to visit

After visiting the old brewery I can advise to have a nice meal in the brasserie and you can also find souvenirs in the breweries show .... one needs to try these perfect beers and I am certain you will get back to Mechelen more often.

I have seen about 5 beer museums before, but the guided tour through brewery Het Anker beats them all when it comes to explaining the production process. Also the beguinage environment adds a historic dimension that few other beer museums have. One needs to make a reservation for the tour, which lasts about 2 hours including some tasting afterwards. The... More

We were really interested in this really old brewery. The tour guide was exceptionally knowledgeable about the production of beer and the history of the building and the company. It seems that, originally, the beer was made by religious, but lay, women who lived in this really lovely little community. They lost their beautiful copper brewing tanks to the Nazis... More

Our tour at the brewery was very interactive, informative and a lot of fun. The guide shared a lot of history and fun to know facts about the Gouden Carolus beers. Iceing on the cake was when we finally could try the beers for ourselves.
