Well the cafe is good .......but the museum is a set of displays which on the top floor currently is ‘ the kings new clothes’ and on floor two is a photo recognition of the ills of Belgian rule of the Congo. At 10 euros each a rip off - avoid!

I came here to see the exhibition of Stephan Vanfleteren. It was the best photo exhibition I saw in FOMU by far. So don't hesitate .... You have time till the end of April.

Reserve about 2 hours of your time to visit at least so you can enjoy everything it has to offer. It was included with the city card, loved it.

A big museum dedicated to art photography. It has four floors which usually have each one their own topic. Not every floor is open at the same time. So it's best you check which exhibition is on, beforehand.
The library it's a special place to stay and to check for a famous book. At the entrance there are many photo magazines, but books are kept in the archive, so you must ask for a book if you want to see it.
Nice shop with postcards with photos from the past exhibitions. The shop always offers books relented to the ongoing exhibition
Beside exhibitions, the museum organizers workshops for adults and kids.
FOMU has a bar/restaurant with terrace, food is good but expensive.
The museum is a pricey. Get the museum card/a card for a discount or wait for its free opening on the last Wednesday of each month!
A must if your passionate of Photography

Heard that this museum was a great photo museum. But i was disappointed by its size. There were only two floors.
On one floor was an exhibition about Iran, which I did not find very interesting. However the photobook that you could read and flip through were fun.
On the other floor were two pretty exhibitions (Sebastian Reuze and Restricted Images).

There was no cohesive-ness. No audio-guide, so you can easily feel lost.
And because I expected it to have a bigger collection, I found the price not that good.

Dear Steph, We're sad to hear your visit didn't meet your expectations. Our exhibitions change regularly. The exhibitions MAAN/MOON and Rebel Lives opened in June and are on show until October. Maybe you would enjoy these more. Hope to see you again! All the best, The FOMU-team
