Hidden behind a large wooden door remains a small alley: during the summer a haven of silence where on monday evening one can enjoy the sounds of the chimes coming from above: the Holy Mary Cathedral. The alley was already known during Rubens'time and even before that. Only very few houses, in the summer decorated with blooming flowers, are situated... More

This is a nice old alley in the center of Antwerp. Seems like a perfect place for dinner - unfortunately I had eaten just before. A nice place to see after all the museums have closed in the evening.

Just one old cobbles-stoned meandering street was saved from all-sorts-of rebuilding in this city over the past 500 years; very quaint, great for tourists and locals alike, you'll need a local guide if you want to know some funny or interesting details.

Nice & romantic but not a lot to do. You can go to a restaurant or a gallery but for the rest it's just a nice hidden pathway.

When you walk through the small walkway make you feel back to past century. There are also good restaurant and beer in this secret area.

Spend 10 minutes of your journey to explore this beautiful passage in Antwerp. Has a few restaurants and reminds you of the past. You have a romantic feeling while walking there and feels like you are in the Middle Ages

One the one hand it is a shame that just about all little houses (1up 1down) have been transformed into the showrooms of a famous Antwerp antiquarian but on the other hand, if it hadn't been for him, the entire area would probably have been demolished. Well worth a walk through. There are a few more hidden passages like this... More

There were a lot of these 'streets' in Antwerp in the past. Thanks to an antiquary one was saved from destruction. Gives a good impression of what once existed and nice to walk through.

I wouldn't have found this place without trip adviser! It is easy to miss but well worth a little look. Basically an alley which looks as it did in medieval times! Very atmospheric, always fun to see something that many others would miss!

It gives an idea how streets could look like during the Middle Ages. Not easy to find but ask locals. To give you the first direction, when you are on the Grote Markt facing the Town hall, it's on your left.
