The idea was great, above all the room with the artwork of the students. More of this please. The rest is a short way, but for me it was only groups of similar clothes over the year, I missed further information about the origin story, more about producing clothes, more about the Belgian fashion story.

Hello there, thank you for your review. During your visit, our main exhibition space was closed for changeover, reflected in the time of your visit and the reduced price of your ticket. Happy to hear you appreciated our exhibition on the students of the Antwerp Fashion Department. We hope to welcome you again soon for our exhibition 'Masquerade, Make-up & Ensor'.

An exhibition of the use of knitwear by famous fashion designers was beautifully displayed and we were allowed to take photos. The only problem was the design of the catalogue as it was hard to attribute designers to some of the exhibits.

A different museum for art workers and fashion lovers. If you like fashion, go there! You will take so many images, ideas and you will see so many choices for clothes via technology. A good place for modern people.

Hurry, The exhibition of Dries van Noten can be viewed only until 19 July 2015. And it will be worth your while. We also went to the shop of Dries van Noten named het Modepaleis which is almost next to the museum. There you can not only view but of course touch, fit and buy an item;). The salesperson there was very informative and kind.

PS. Before entering the museum there is an interactive video wall. Touch up on a certain item and you get more information about the item. This got my attention for some time.

Not sure what the idea behind it is. The collections have barely any explanation. It is not clear what the curator is trying to show. Badly done. Disappointing.

A very good museum - gave an overview of the clothes, undergarments, etc from previous decades, seeing it made it a lot easier to imagine things about what you can read in the books, etc (i.e tennis clothing in the 19th century). So, even if you are not particularly interested in fashion, it's still worth visiting.

As much as it distresses me, I have to admit I found this museum disappointing. This mostly has to do with the basement where you are sent to put your handbag in a locker. The white-painted walls have a grey line of dirt where they meet the floors, the elevator surrounds looks beat up, several toilets are out of use, and the one I used had long-dried blood stains on the door. Ick! The wood paneling on all floors looks stained and dirty, there is no attention to detail. Considering this building has only been in use for a decade, it all looks incredibly unloved. Please get the paint brushes out and fix this, it should not be a big job.
The exposition itself was a good overview of upper class woman's fashion from 1750-1950 on loan from a private collection. This was well presented, clean and simple. But it was nothing I had not seen before, and it did not seem extensive or insightful enough to be worth the 8 euro fee.
I will visit again in the future if there is an exposition that interests me, and I hope I will be able to adjust my opinion later.

With constantly changing exhibitions, MoMu is the perfect spot for checking out (antwerp) fashion. Definately worth checking out. The architecture is also really incredible, and so is the museum book shop, that sells (exclusive) fashion and art magazines and books.

Personally I am not into fashion but this museum I really enjoyed. Antwerp is one of the World's hotspots in fashion and the museum's collection represents this and gets fashion closer to you. Some pieces are really stunning, others entertaining (to say the least) but it is always interesting since the explanations are good.
