Although currently under renovation but this is a nice little castle to visit . Statue of Lange Wapper outside the castle is very interesting. Lange Wapper is a Flemish folkloric character. He is a giant and trickster. Check out the internet for stories on Lange...More

River cruise ship docked within walking distance. Decided to go for a walk to visit the castle and found it under renovation and closed. Will eventually be a visitors center. Small castle used for defense purposes and not lived in by royalty.

Het Steen can be found on the east bank of the river and is a small but very attractive castle. It is not far to reach here from the main touristy streets of Antwerp so it's well worth stopping by and having a look inside.

The castle was under renovation during our visit so we were unable to see it, but what we could see looked lovely.

Completely fenced. It is under renovation. Could not actually see anything extensive. May be something to see when completed, but that will be quite some time.

At the borders of the river Schelde, right in the middle of town. Enjoy the scenery and travel way back in time visiting Het Sten .

We briefly visited the castle on our walking tour. The building was closed for renovation and like many of the older buildings in Antwerp it is partially covered in scaffolding. The views along the river would be good. It’s history as a prison is also...More

The castle was closed when we visited Antwerp in July 2018- it’s impossible to make a real review. But seen from the outside it looks like a castle that Walt Disney could have drawn on a quiet day. Take a couple of photos and move...More
