We had no idea of the size of Antwerp's port until we were taken there by our guide. We were amazed & could really see how & why Antwerp had been such an important port for centuries.

Rich with history Antwerp’s Grote Markt is a must visit! The bridge of the port is lovely and going down by the water on a weekend means there is a lovely market! You can have fresh waffles or oysters by the North Sea!

The port area of Antwerp is a good place to walk and not far from the Grote Markt. This was a very historic port and the main port of Europe a few centuries ago.

As already noted, it is about 40 mins by train. Every city has its own Xmas market, so you have a grand choice.
