We enjoyed the Antwerp Zoo. Each ticket was €31 which I purchased online from their official website the night before our visit. Also the night before our visit I reserved our entrance time slot, as I believe this is a Covid precaution requirement. At the time of our visit masks were required inside the zoo. We paid to park at Antwerp Central Station, which is right next to the zoo. The entrance to this parking garage was 2.1 meters high and you pay as you exit. A free zoo map (in English) was provided upon entrance. We spent 3 hours at the zoo. Food and drinks are for sale inside the zoo but we just brought our own. My favorite exhibit was the butterfly garden. We also enjoyed watching the very active rhinos. There is a gift shop at the exit. The zoo is very close walking distance to Chocolate Nation, which I also recommend. We ate lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe and for that utilized a different parking garage (at Interparking Antwerpen - Parking Meir, because it’s entrance height is 2 meters). There are also plenty of shops and Grote Markt near the Hard Rock Cafe. Antwerp is an excellent stop for an enjoyable day trip. I highly recommend a visit.

We visited here in January with a promotion. It was 23 euros instead of 28 which I still thought was very expensive. The zoo is quite small though and there wasn't the range of animals or quantity that I was expecting. It's one of the oldest zoos in Europe which is one of the reasons we went. I think too that you have to bear in mind that when it's cold, the animals are cold too and are inside where it's warm and not doing very much apart from hiding from the cold in their nests/beds so there weren't as many on show as I would have expect - but this isn't their fault of course, it's just something to consider. The butterfly area is also closed in the winter months (again, it makes sense but is something to know about in advance). Also, I wouldn't eat at either of the restaurants - it is expensive and not very nice. We went in because it was cold and we wanted something warm to eat, paid 15 euros for a burger and it wasn't a burger at all, it was a sloppy beef patty in gravy. The chips were great though but you have to pay a euro for each of the sauces.

The Zoo itself is lovely, clean well maintained, the animals all look happy and healthy and lots of interactive things to do if you have children. But I can only give the Zoo and average as it’s so expensive €31 for an adult ticket for a Zoo is just far too expensive. Yes I paid it and yes I enjoyed it but when you can go to far superior and larger Zoo’s for half that price you wonder what your are paying for!! If perhaps it’s for an animal sanctuary or breeding programme I’d understand it! If you have a large family this will be an expensive day out!

The zoo is located right next to the central train station, so it is easy to visit. We had a very nice time wandering through, and enjoyed the cave exhibit as well as the penguins. This zoo is very doable in a short period of time, so I would recommend it if you are in Antwerp with kids.

The variety of animals in the zoo is cool, but that’s the only thing that we liked during our visit.
We were more disappointed than satisfied. Firstly because of the amount of people in the zoo. Many screaming, crying and running kids didn’t let us enjoy calm music in the aquarium zone. And the busyness showed in the site was only 43% so I cannot imagine what it would look like during 100%…
Secondly, we didn’t see many animals. For example, one of the most interesting one - tiger…
In our opinion, it’s not worth 31€.

It has a lot of animals and also the place is well marked to follow the directions.
You need a complete day to see the whole zoo.
Just one thing I did not like is even after charging so much money many places were empty without the animals. The places have been marked but there was nothing inside.
Also the butterfly park was completely empty, we could not find a single butterfly.
The most amazing thing to see was the jungle book festival in the evening.
It was charged separately.

This is a lovely and well maintained city zoo that we visited many times. Last night we were there again with our kids to see the Jungle Book light spectacle which was a well worth visit. But I came here to shout a huge thank you to the Antwerp ZOO for maintaining a spotless and warm family room in the toilets next to the flamingos where we cleaned and fed our baby. For this we love Antwerp Zoo even more!

The visit to the Antwerpen Zoo was worth my whole day. Everything so structure, the animals were also fun to watch, there are very much places to go. The Zoo was so clean and it was really worth the price I paid. Also I enjoyed visiting the food court with lots of variations. The gift shop was also another great experience. The services were fast, the places clean and it was an enjoyable and relax atmosphere. I had a very great time and I am so happy I visit this place.

This zoo is a lot bigger than it looks. I was especially surprised by how many different species were on display there. The zoo itself looks very well managed and clean. You can tell real animal lovers work there. It definitely holds up to its reputation as an internationally famous zoo.

Fantastic experience, we spent hours walking around and could have stayed a lot longer. Loved the marine life area and the nocturnal bit was special too. The butterfly garden was also spectacular.
