Every time I visit the ZOO (+- once a year) there is something new or an improvement. You can see that the ticket money goes into the ZOO! The area is little bit cramped because of the limits of the place - it is in the middle of the city unlike other ZOOs in the world. It is maybe because... More

Ideal for family with children, nice quiet areas around the zoo to get a bit of relaxation. Gardens and property are superbly kept up and kept clean. The new aquarium installed at Easter unfortunatly was scratched at several places to my disapointment. Unfortunatly many of the newer parents dont keep there children under control and allow them to bang on... More

Not the biggest zoo in the world but also not the busiest. Absolutely chucked it down with rain multiple times but we were happy to spend time sheltering under the trees in this lovely, quaint place. The kids loved it and i'd be happy to go back anytime. No corporate hard sell. You really are just left in peace to... More

We were pleasantly surprised bynew housings for the animals. This makes it worth returning to the zoo every 2 years. The entrance is competely changed as the new main restaurant is now in the middle of the zoo. Also new housing for several animals makes it more attractive for another visit. The new open bird cage is fantastic and in... More

It's really sad and embarrassing to see the bad situation of life that the animals have. Many small cages while the public open areas are huge, empty and ugly. All made in order to please people and with out the slitest attention to the animals. The cages are*decorated* with plastic plants and concrete floors... Made me angry. That this is... More

Although the Zoo is under repair the exhibits and staff were very friendly. The only issue we had was with the price being just that little to expensive for a family of 3 (67 Euros) if it was 50 Euros that would have been better. However I do recognize the need to make money to support the Zoo. However for... More

This zoo is pure nostalgia to me. I went there every year with my parents watching the dolphins (my favorite), the swimming ice bears, the sea lions, the black bears en elephants, gorillas etc... Then they gave away all large animals to their sister zoo Plankendael because they have more space and reformed into special bird cages, monkey stuff and... More

We had a great time at the zoo. The layout is good, the animals all looked clean and well looked after and there was a good variety. The gardens were also very nice with lots of flowers. A good way to spend a couple of hours.

Although we didn't actually visit the zoo, we did go on the Ferris wheel close to the entrance. This was reasonably priced at €6 for an adult. The Ferris wheel went very high and gave great views over the city including into the zoo where we could see the flamingoes, and of the amazing central station.
