Very nice and cozy bar and Inn/hostel. Often live music. In the middle of the city of The Hague. A mix of local beerdrinkers,expats,foreign students and travellers. De Gekke Geit has a very nice sellection of The Hague craft beers. There often tastings and a 1000 liters of beer hanging above the bar.

I had read that this was a good local bar to visit at the Hague and they were right. Its what some people would describe as basic or earthy - small, friendly and with a good selection of draught and bottled beers. There was a live jazz trio playing which really made my day - it was a joy just sitting there with a beer listening to the jazz !
This is not a commercialised touristey place like some of the other bars in the Hague - and all the better because of that ! Definitely one of the best bars we visited at the Hague.

I often come here with friends, especially on thursdays since they offer a student discount! the employees are always friendly (and patient). What is also nice is the location, right next to grote markt and within walking distance of both train stations.
Recommend this place to anybody looking for a good time.

I moved to The Hague a few months ago and De Gekke Geit was the first place I visited. Immediately after dropping my luggage off at the hostel I headed to the bar where I had several LAMs (their house beer) some good conversation with some regulars and the bartender.
De Gekke Geit is a cozy place with fun and friendly bartenders who are always up for a chat and occasionally a game of cards. You get the vibe that everyone who works here is family and patrons are usually a pleasant mix of students, locals and people passing through from all over the world.
Additionally, there's a small stage that hosts a variety of rotating events, including a lecture series on esoteric subjects that happens every first Tuesday of the month. It's always a good time at the Crazy Goat.

An anomaly in The Hague, De Gekke Geit is what the Dutch appropriately term 'Gezellig'. It has a wonderfully intimate atmosphere coupled with an edginess missing from other bars. The staff are delightful, welcomng and friendly plus there is always something to do. From live music to standup comedy to pub quizzes; it really caters for everything. The choice of beers is excellent and very cheap giving it a dictinct advantage over other bars in the Hague. This place is a must for anyone visiting the Hague. I will defintiely be coming back again!!!

After 7 years, I almost consider myself a local in DH.
The Gekke Geit (bar) has an amazing selection of indy brews (and some mainstream favourites), from ales, to cider. Cool DJs and bands also play, and once in a while they will crack open a cask of promotional drink sent by the breweries, for the free enjoyment of the patrons!
The owner/operator is also really cool!

I'm a big fan of this cozy bar, really good atmosphere, every time when I'm in the Hague I pay a visit to that place. The last time when we were there it was a gipsy music night. Great fun! There are plenty of different kinds of beer, they have even their own beer LAM is definitely worth a try. That is one of my favorite places in The Hague. Looking forward to coming back again!

I came for 1 day and I decided to stay for over 2 weeks, the hostel is amazing, the best one in Holland, the beer is delicious and cheap, the beds are very confortable, and the staff are the best. Had beers with the owner, laid back and cool guy, even took his dog for a walk, you must visit this hostel.
To top it off the hostel has many events during the week and they're insane!

In my honest opinion this bar has it all, it's own beer (Lam), comedy shows, live jazz, gipsy music night, open mic, crazy student party's and an overall relaxed atmosphere. It's a bar where you can go alone and leave with friends. And it's cheap ;)

Dropped by because of the scene. It was summer and everything was outside on the sidewalk, no one was really inside other than to get more drinks.
Music on the street, drinks. Not sure if they even served food at this point in the night. Fun little place. Enjoyed the experience.
