Chinatown has clearly been hit by the past few years. It’s in urgent need of restoration and refurbishment. Dirty shop fronts, broken signs and a general low standard of restaurant won’t attract tourists or dutch residents when there is so much choice on offer in the city centre.

As others have already mentioned, this Chinatown is not that big, but I wouldn't call it small either. No question, it's not as big as the ones in U.S, but about par by European standards. There's the usual two arches signalling the boundaries of Chinatown and lots of restaurants in between. Lots of options for Chinese food, though there's a great variety of other restaurants too, and prices to suit all budgets. I had a noodle soup at Wang Wang here and enjoyed it.

There's also Chinese supermarkets, massage, medicine as well as other assorted shops that have nothing to do with Chinese as well.

Den Haag is the only Dutch city with an original version of China Town. Two columns marking the entrances of China Town; the East gate (where the sun goes up) and the West gate (dawn), the wind blowing through the gates while giving Chi the possibility to settle among the Chines shopowners.

Just near to the main shopping street, suddenly pops out a huge gate & everything beyond this changes drastically into a chinese town... red lanterns on the street , & some good dimsums to eat..

We decided to have a walk through Chinatown as we were staying a couple of minutes away. We found one of the arches and saw the red lanterns hanging. There are quite a few Chinese shops and restaurants around. It is just your typical Chinatown area that most other cities have. It is nice to have a walk round the streets and see the different arches that there are which are good for taking a picture.

Situated in the city centre, off the Wagenstraat, The Hague has its very own Chinatown. The entrance is marked by large golden Chinese gates with sculpture dragons winding round the pillars, through which are a variety of Chinese, Indonesian and Japanese restaurants and supermarkets.

There is a Chinatown just about everywhere you go, or at least in every major city around the world. So we are used to this sort of neighbourhood and it is not easy to get too excited about! This one is okay as far as shops, restaurants and the like go. Nothing unusual.

Some of the best Chinese food in the area can be found here (Full moon). Also some of the most average. You can get a meal for $5 or $50. Only a few non-foos shops. A few massage and spa places. It is very easy access from the grote market (main market). Chines new year is fun simple and accessible. Go for a meal or a quick side visit while shopping

We wandered through the Chinatown in The Hague and did some shopping as well as had dinner there but it wasn’t as alive as some other Chinatown in Europe but still it was interesting to wander around it.

Safe, but not a lot of shops as we are used to in eg Singapore or other big cities. At first I was hesitant, but it seems to be quite safe
