Great fun, great people, good music

We went there last night for a night out in Den Haag and had really good time. They had live music and great selection of beers.
Be prepared to a pub style bar and not a fancy place.

Live music party

Ended up here after seeing a concert nearby. Saw the inviting Jupiler sign and it pointed us to de Paap. Good music playing, friendly staff, good beers on tap. We ended staying the rest of the night.

Atmospheric live music venue

Atmospheric bar near the centre of The Hague. The band was just setting up when we called in for a drink so it was fairly quiet but we could see from the posters displayed that this is a popular music venue with live music several nights of the week. The bar tables by the windows afford nice views of this attractive city street. The beer was more expensive than some of the other establishments in the area, and was served in plastic glasses, but otherwise it was a nice place to stop for a beer.

Dirty Place

Dirty place full of drunk people..Unfortunately one of the few places that is open till late.
The bad surprise was security guys being over aggressive to some people, even beating some drunk students...

So Much Fun!

A group of friends from Toronto, Canada that went to visit a friend working in The Hague for a year went to De Paap on a Friday night. They had a really great band playing (alternative rock) that the crowd was singing along with, and when the band ended at about 11:30, the bartenders were controlling the music on their sound system and it was great! They played a mix of retro music, dance and alternative, which was enough to get the entire crowd jumping around and singing at the top of their lungs along with the music. The bar was absolutely packed. We didn't leave until around 3:45am. We hadn't intended to stay out that late because we were leaving for Amsterdam the next morning, but we were having so much fun we just couldn't leave! We kept saying "ok, one more song". Definitely a fun place to go if you're in The Hague!
