About
The Hague Antique and Book Market is located right in the middle of the museum square next to Hotel des Indes. Lange Voorhout is one of the most beautiful spots in The Hague and this market is the place to be for lovers of antiques, vintage, art, design, old prints & books, paintings and objets d'art. There is a big market every Sunday from mid May - 12 th September and a smaller market every Thursday the whole year through.

Although this was much smaller than I expected, the unusual variety of things on sale made it enjoyable. I assume that other times of the year may have more vendors but if you want a small market in a great part of Den Haag, give it a shot.

PS- We were there in early November, not December.

That's correct, during the Winter there is a small version of the market every Thursdat. However, from May to 12th September there is a large version of the Antique and Book Market every Sunday from 09:00 am - 06:00 pm!

We passed through here on our way to the palace and the Escher exhibit. Most of the books are in Dutch we don't speak but it was still fun to wander through. WE perused the old postcards and got one from our home village in Switzerland!

A small but interesting market with assorted items, all with European charm and generally reasonable prices.

It is just by chance that we were scheduled to be in The Hague on Thursday which also happens to be a day when this market is in full swing. It is well organized in a beautiful tree zone, under canopies. The collectors and exhibitors of the art work have a great selection in mint condition. They are over priced and it is hard to negotiate. But the art/ antiques are good. Have a walk through and enjoy a coffee or croissant at the open air cafes within. The artwork is fairly global. Have cash ready. They don't transact on cards. There were ample book, record resellers too but the books weren't in English and I just walked through and passed them.

Under the trees in this picturesque setting is a lively 'antiques' market - a lovely place to browse around on a warm afternoon.

The market is very small and should be combined with other activities to make it worthwhile. The location is great and it is nice to take a walk through the market and look at the unique stuff that is put on display. It is close to the Mauritshuis and in the centre so you can combine it well.

I wouldn't go out of my way to go again, but it's very sweet and a nice afternoon activity if you're in the area. It's in the square right next to a bunch of other attractions, and there are a few nice restaurants in the square so it's nice to people watch while you eat on a sunny day. My fiance used to live right off the square so it was nice to see people milling about and find a few small nice trinkets from various vendors. I've been a few times over the years and always just very pleasant!

When we are in the Hague then we always have a look, my wife loves these things just go through stuff "hunting for treasures". The sell a lot of art and old(er) objects, books and you can get something to eat too.. there is always a fish car.

We hardly buy something, just looking around is nice and there is always the chance you just might find something in the end.

I would recommend it as the start of a nice Sunday, have a stroll!.

The antique and book market is half way between the Mauritshuis and the Escher museum on a sort of cross between a leafy avenue and a park.

On a rainy day it is not very pleasant because it is outdoor but on a dry day it is very pleasant. Forget about parking here, my recommendation is to park your car either at the Binnenhof car park (underground) or the Malieveld (also underground) and then just walk there (maybe 5 minutes).

The market is also interesting because you can find many antiques from the Dutch colonial past, mainly Indonesia.
