The boat trip last around 1,5 hours and takes you through the canals of The Hague. A guide explains a lot during the trip. You will pass 35 bridges for which you need to duck but this is no problem really.

Because of Corona less people are allowed on the boat and 1,5 m distance is kept except for families. And you can wash your hands before going on the boat. So a good!

Price of 15 euro is well worth it.

I booked this tour as a treat for my daughter & grandchildren, as something different to do during the school holiday. They live in The Hague & I'm a frequent visitor, so we're familiar with that part of the city at street level. It was very interesting to glide under the bridges that we only ever walk over, and to see the amazing architecture lining the canals. Our guide spoke such good english, & interacted well with those on board. He engaged with my grandchildren, who thankfully sat still for the whole trip. A couple of extra helpful points: My daughter was allowed to store the buggy in the office & mini lifejackets were supplied.

We took the tour on a sunny Sunday with Eric (guide), Kevin (skipper), with 25 people onboard. It was a great ambiance - informative and witty guide, skilful boat driver, cheerful group, and friendly people waving and smiling as we passed by their houses/ restaurants.

I highly recommend this trip as an introduction to The Hague in 90 minutes. It opens my eyes to other places that I would like to visit in The Hague.

For an enhanced experience, you can book a group tour where you can order beer & snacks (including bitterballen) that will be lowered down from the bridge to the boat mid-tour. Will try that next time!

We took 3 boat tours while in Holland and, by far, this was the best! For English speakers we found that the other two tours only provided an audio guide in English that had to play over the voice of the Dutch speaking guide or audio. This tour was not only an English tour but with Ada, a lovely English-speaking actual person who narrated the entire 1 hour tour. She was funny, informative and clearly loves this city. We left the tour loving it as well. If you want to take a canal cruise, do this one!

Let's start with the description from the website: "Price for an English spoken Canal Tour ", so we paid up in the shop where you book. When getting on we were told "the tour will be in Dutch but there's an English translation book". OK, not impressed, strikes me as false advertising, but I'd paid by this time. So we get on and the tour gets under way. The English translation book was a fraction of what he talked about in Dutch and they didn't even try a little by saying, "number 7 in your book" or something similar. No we, and the other English speakers on board were definitely second class citizens and were completely ignored, not even a word said to us. It was a good job my wife was watching out forward as I was looking elsewhere when we weren't even warned of the impending low bridge that you had to duck for. Unless you are Dutch speaking, I would recommend avoiding this, they were rude beyond belief.

I'm English but I grew up in Holland about 10 minutes north of The Hague. I am fluent in Dutch so it was easy for me to translate for my wife. If you've lived here and know the language, this is a fun and interesting 90 minutes. If you're not local or don't speak the language, this is not the most ideal tour for you. The guides can and will speak English if asked but depending on the size of the group, this might end up being a problem. The closest comparison would be the big tourist boats that tour the canals in Amsterdam; this tour is NOT like that. It has a far more local and far less touristy flavor. The boats are open-air, nicely converted work barges and the bridges are low. I don't mean "duck your head" low - I mean "hunker down below the level of the deck" low. The tours are all run by local volunteers, both the skippers and the tour guides.
My wife and I enjoyed it but I could see others feeling a bit left out if they didn't know the language or had no local knowledge of the city.

It never occurred to me that The Hague offers boat trips on its relatively understated canals. For this reason I was both surprised and intrigued by the offer of Rond Vaart Den Haag. When I read that the boat trip lasts 90 minutes, I wondered if that isn't a bit too long ? It was not.

The boats are open top, with long bench seats on either side, facing each other which provides a good atmosphere for all the trippers and sitting casually on the steps at the front of the boat, the guide was very friendly and made many jokes during his commentary.

Some of the bridges under which we pass are scarily low and we are warned to bend down as far as we can to avoid losing our heads. It is not a joke, as my photos will show. I could not believe how quietly and smoothly we sailed along the canals and just for that reason alone the trip was sheer bliss.

It was intriguing to catch glimpses of typical Den Haag Landmarks and well known buildings from the viewpoint on the canals. The 90 minute journey ended far too quickly and I would have happily carried on floating along the canals...

This is one of the best boat trips I have been on in Holland.

This canal trip is run by volunteers and is fun. The guide gave a great commentary, only thing is that you have to be prepared to duck when the boat goes under the bridges (but that's half the fun). In all it's a unique experience; well recommended for an informative and fun tour of The Hague.

I am not a native The Hague-person and I also thought canal tours are for tourists. I am living in The Hague for 20 years now and I heard so much positive about the canal tour, it became time to make a tour myself.
What a surprise. I thought, I meanwhile knew The Hague. It is so surprising expiriencing the city from the water. The tour takes about 2 hours and is very enjoyable. A guide explains the surroundings (the past and the present), sometimes amended by "natives" that take part at the tour as well. I recommend this tour to all who are interested in the city of The Hague and definately to the natives!!!

We were glad to go and had a sightseeing tour from the Canal. The guide was nice although spoke Dutch but we got an English handout. We enjoyed seeing the ecology of the canal very close i.e. plants and birds. The low bridges were very exciting. If the weather is good this is a wonderful program in The Hague.
