Historical Royal Walking Tour in The Hague

11 reviews
I am going to take u back in time, where The Hague was founded. What is the history of the Netherlands, and what role did The Hague have in the history. How did the Dutch royal family came to power and what role do they play in current Holland. These and other stories will be told during the walking tour.

The Hague is beautifull and rich in history. A lot of the landmarks are still here. With a guided walking tour u not only know the story behind the buildings but also what the function is today. History of The Hague is Dutch history and I would love to tell u all about it.

We walk with small or private groups to have some interaction and flexibilty in the tour. I like to adjust the tour according to the group. I also arrange water and some snacks to have a great morning or afternoon.

A fine collection of Dutch paintings, indeed, showing also the connection of Dutch painters and their French colleagues. Nice garden around.

It's sister/ brother Panorama Mesdag is perhaps more famous, a 115 metre long circular Panorama painting. It's not an or-or situation, that one is just 1 few hundred metres away. Meanwhile, the Mesdag Collection offers a wider array of -mostly- paintings of Mesdag and his wife themselves and others who inspired them. Nice little museum, with still an impressive number of works. And unexpected views of the Peace Palace from the windows at the back of the building.

A big collection inside a well-designed place. Lovely collection of art work. If you have done Panorama Mesdag, go for this museum as well afterwards!

This ties up nicely with Mesdag and the panorama as he painted that. Lovely collection of art work. Nice cafe. If you can go on monument day lots of places are open for free.
