This tower is located not too far from the infamous Biennenhoff. The tour very conveniently started at 13.00 (there was another one at 15:00). We were greeted by the most passionate, personable and knowledgeable tour guide (they are volunteers who loves the city and knows a lot about it). Although in total there were around 300 steps (I think), we made a few stops on the way up where the tour guide would tell us stories (mostly about the hisoty of the bell and how it's run & maintained). Steps were not too narrow and it was relatively comfortable to climb up. At the top we were rewarded with the most amazing view of the city, incl Scheveningen, Royal Palace, The Peace Palace, etc (on a good day you can even clearly see Rotterdam). It was rather breezy at the top so be sure you have your jacket with you!
Overall fantastic experience and cannot recommend this enough. 🎉🎉🎉

After a few stops and some history about the tower and the city of The Hague, the guide takes you to a stunning overview of the city, the Dutch coastline and even nearby cities such as Rotterdam are visible. At every floor, there are English translations of a mainly Dutch-spoken tour.

It's a nice way to experience The Hague from a different perspective. Because it's a guided tour you will also learn a bit about the history of The Hague.

You can get to the top of the Grote Kerk in the Hague by joining their guided tours. The tour costs 6 euros and takes about one hour. You climb up through the different levels where you see the machinery that plays the melodies. The guide had lots of great stories to tell about things that I didn't know either, even though I've lived here for quite some time. You get to see the the bell machinery in action and at the end you have plenty of time to enjoy the view of the city from the top of the tower. The view is magnificent. The climb up is via stairs (quite narrow at parts) with a railing all the way. As long as you're able to walk in stairs this won't be a problem. Highly recommended! (Btw, the church is separate so it doesn't include a tour of the church)
