We joined the 'rooftop bicycle tour' which was a great experience. Riding the bike through Rotterdam is the best way to explore the city and it was very special to visit all kind of different rooftops and looking at the city from above. Our guide was friendly and professional and we liked the personal and welcoming approach of the company.

A simple walk passing the centre of Rotterdam, visiting the roofs of some buildings for magnificient views from above. The story brought by Ariane in a very passionated way. Thank you for guiding us and the historical remarks and explanation of the new vibes of Rotterdam.

Best guided tour with Rob with a lot of useful information about the history of Rotterdam. We visited places we've never seen before, while we're Dutch citizens. We loved the unexpected food of several local entrepreneurs. Overall it was a great day!

Learn what the Rotterdammers are creating on their abundant flat rooftops to contribute to a more sustainable society. Different projects, with different functions, each with its own color. Our guide Claire made it pop up.

You get into the sustainability project on top of 26 meters high! Stunning view and creative projects and ideas on this green roof are definitely worth admiration!

Inside Rotterdam does great tours. It's very considerate of international visitors in terms of flexibility, while the contents of the tour are so delightfully local. We enjoyed many strange places and local products that you would never encounter on your own.

This was our first visit to Rotterdam and having checked out Tripadvisor on things to do we came across Ariane's cycle trips. We've been in the Netherlands for a week and it was time to combine trying out a bike and seeing the sights at the same time.
We met Ariane at 1pm outside the train station and collected the bikes under the station. We spent the next three hours cycling leisurely around the highlights that the city has to offer. The commentry by Ariane was nicely pitched and just enough detail. The venue for coffee/lunch was in a really nice spot beside the river.
An excellent afternoon overall.

Rather than just a tour around the typical Rotterdam highlights, this tour took us to all the places we would have never found on our own, but really showed us the rich history and lovely places that people living in Rotterdam would enjoy. Biking from one place to another Ariane told us everything about why Rotterdam turned out to be such a divers city, and took us to old and new places that represented the city best. I loved the fun and enthousiastic company of Ariane, and would highly recommend taking this tour if you want an authentic view of Rotterdam.

We did the "flat roof" tour in Rotterdam where we climbed on 4 flat roofs to hear the story of fleet roofs management and development. And of course we enjoyed the fantastic views!

We enjoyed a fun afternoon riding the streets of Rotterdam with Arianne.
We had booked the tour on-line and were at the designated meeting spot at the Railway Station. However, the bike company had relocated to a different area and did not advise us of the change. After a phone call, Arianne was extremely apologetic, and arrived with two bikes ten minutes later. The moral of the story is to confirm the booking.
This did not hinder our experience and we thought Arianne was a great guide. The cycle tour was interesting and took us to different areas, to where we had been earlier in the day. It was only 9km in distance; however Arianne was an excellent guide at keeping us safe on the road, paths and bridges and offered exceptional local knowledge, as only a local can.
We were taken to architectural projects within the community; shown local street art; warehouse conversions to eateries; the Markethaus; Cuboid Housing and many other interesting architectural icons in Rotterdam.
There were only four on the tour and the weather wasn't great, but we were so glad that we joined the tour, as we visited places we would not have found on our own.

Are the bike tours suitable for seniors (74,72)who are in good condition for their ages? Hills?

Hi, it's Ariane from Inside Rotterdam. Thank you for your question and thanks a lot to all the others for all the answers they already gave! Rotterdam is very flat and in two tours (Highlights and Harbor tour) we will go over one or two brigdes. Don't worry about it, it's not soo steep, and we always adapt the pace to the group. (we have small groups).
If you don't know Rotterdam that well, I recommend you to take the Highlights bike tour. The Harbor bike tour is also possible but will be longer biking (+/- 9,5 miles) and you can face some strong wind. In the Harbor tour we take the biking tunnel under the river, which was described above. Here it's also possible to take the elevator instead of the escalator, so you don't have to worry about it.
