Very nice and interesting museum. This concerns 2 different buildings in a more upscale neighborhood that are connected by means of... are connected together by a glass tube. This museum undoubtedly keeps up with the times, so there is a lot to do and see for younger children. It's a pity that the beautiful restaurant space that they have is not really well 'staffed' and potential customers are simply allowed to leave without consuming anything.

I never imagined there could be a museum for tax and customs. They’ve done it well. A beautiful building in a smart area, with paid parking outside. It tells the history and importance of tax as well as explaining the European Union, Schengen, and other themes such as counterfeiting and piracy. It’s interactive as well. A really enjoyable visit.

This is a small museum located close to Westplein tram stop. It tells the history of taxation and customs in the Netherlands. They have several paintings and a lot of interactive displays. There are old uniforms and various machinery as well that was used in the past. I found it quite interesting and a good way to wile away an hour or so. The museum is set out over three floors but does have a lift to help those with mobility issues.

This is a museum dedicated to the Dutch tax system, and Customs. You can view things like pictures, documents, etc. What I liked the most, though were some items that have been captured by the Dutch Customs, having a purpose to be sold, etc, before that, obviously illegally. I enjoyed my visit, and there are many places to eat nearby, and nice views.

A small but very nice museum about taxes (and smuggling) in The Netherlands during the ages. Sometimes with light and funny note. Also suited for children.

Lots to see here and lots to learn about the history of taxes and everything that has to do with taxes. I really enjoyed the part about smuggling and fake items. People are so inventive! Nice museum to visit while in Rotterdam for a couple of days.

The "Belasting & Douanemuseum" (Tax & Customs Museum) is situated at the Parklaan, in an impressive mansion. I wondered what the interesting things would be about taxes and customs, but the long and short of it is, that I spent about three hours in this gripping museum. It is chock full of history about taxation, customs, smuggling etc. On the top floor an interesting traveling exhibition was set out about the history of taxation from the time of the Faraos till the Roman Empire. I can only say that it is a very interesting museum, worth a visit. Coffee and tea can be bought at a small counter in the canteen. Entrance for a fee. Free entrance with the annual Dutch museum pass. Tram line 7, stop "Westplein" brings you on a three minute walk from the museum.

So nothing to do on a Sunday and alone with my three daughters, we went here for free with the Rotterdam pass. Didn't expect anything, but had a pretty good time. There is a quest for the kids and a small playing area. The exhibition is pretty small, basically two floors, housed in a very nice "herenhuis". But you can touch (almost) everything, and there is a lot of interactivity. We recommend the interactive story telling about the "tiende penning" and the room on smuggling. Everything is Dutch though.
