While I'm sure like most of Rotterdam's activities it's better in Summer, the old harbour has a lot of charm. There are historical ships parked up as part of the maritime museum that you can see 'for free' from the outside.
Very cool to wander through and snap pics.

This was a great place to walk, hang out, and observe local scenery but don't plan to spend a lot of time. The water, docks and houses are pretty and it is low key. I loved it here and was glad I took the time to find it. Take a quick walk and have a drink, take your photos and move on!

The Old Harbour is a lovely and picturesque spot. It's full of museums, cafes, bars and restaurants and the boats in the water complete the whole picture. It's quite beautiful.

a nice area for lunch or diner. but, I like to have a cold afternoon beer just before sunset on a warm summer day.

The old harbour as the name says is the oldest part of Rotterdam, which now cannot be seen in the original form, due to the II world war bombing, but you can feel that spirit.
Mixed old and new modern houses, with many bars and restaurants, with numerous and every kind vessels makes a great ambience to spend a couple of hours.

One of the best places in Rotterdam to go for a beer. Very popular by the local people to go out. Worth to try.

If you love water and boats (good sized ones really) then this will be a great walk from the main square area and along the river.

The Old Harbour is full of history in a modern jacket. The terraces are modern, the view nostalgic. Don't expect haute cuisine, but food and drinks are perfectly okay. And you can just sit back, relax, and enjoy good company and/or the relaxing atmosphere
