The Kunsthal Rotterdam is one of the leading cultural institutions in the Netherlands. With over twenty exhibitions a year, the Kunsthal offers a programme that is dynamic and always surprising. The Kunsthal is continuously transforming, and with its regularly changing exhibitions able to offer crossovers between various art disciplines. From modern masters and contemporary art to forgotten cultures, photography, fashion and design. The Kunsthal's exhibition programme gives it its national scope and international allure. In its iconic building designed by Rem Koolhaas, the Kunsthal stands for three core values: art, culture and society. The Kunsthal is not a museum, nor does it wish to be. Not having its own collection gives the Kunsthal absolute freedom, and making optimum use of that freedom is where its strength lies. With a small team, a wide range of exhibitions and activities are realised with a high turnover rate for a diverse audience. This is what makes the Kunsthal different from other institutions in the museum sector.

This exposition hall is in Museumpark, close to 'proper' musea. It sometimes has quirky exhibits, but often also exhibitions of artists of name and fame like Botero and Hopper. The park surrounding the hall is wonderful. Nice and quiet and they have a great restaurant/cafe.

The Kunsthal is build by famous Rem Koolhaas, a Dutch architect. The design of the museum is already worth a visit. They have had some intriguing exhibitions in the last year.

We visited the Kunsthal because of the big Fernando Botero exhibition. I really recommend to go there. A lot of fabulous paintings and sculptures of this famous Colombian artist are on display until the 11th of September 2016.

We had a great time viewing the Botero exhibit at the Kunsthal in Rotterdam. Plenty of space to roam around and view the many wonderful pieces on display.

Only if you're into architecture, this building is a must see. I don't think you can call what they keep inside as art. According to Andy Warhol, 'Art is what you can get away with'. They cannot get away with looking like a garbage dump.

Kunst is Dutch for Art and Kunsthal ( Art Hall ) has loads of it. The huge galleries house an eclectic collection of contemporary art in various media. There is a cafe and library as well. It is an important unit of the Museumplein.

Small enough to visit easily in a day, always home to the most interesting exhibits in town. Beautifully laid out with a very nice cafe as well.

The Kunsthal is a cool museum located in a beautiful modern building. The museum always has many different exhibitions, so usually, there will be something that you like. You can easily spend quite some hours wandering around the different exhibitions, and if you need a break, there's a lovely café. Location is easily accessible by public transport.

Probably the best thing about Rotterdam. The Museum of Everything demands at least three hours to do it justice. It has a huge variety of exhibits, from "run of the mill' artisans. It is superbly documented in English as well as Dutch, with some droll comments to describe the artists: e.g. "autodidact, intellectual and car mechanic", "lay preacher and loudmouth... More
