Grand old times relived.

A wonderful old ship that has been brought back to its glorious days. A nice experience to walk around and take it all in.

My boyfriend and I took the combined tour (pricey at 32 euro for the two of us), but it was worth it! There's lots of staff everywhere who spoke both English and Dutch to us (I'm English, he's Dutch) and it was absolutely clear that they loved the ship and knew a lot about it's history. We were lucky that... More

My grandparents took a cruise on this ship long time ago, don't think much has changed since then. Nice to have a drink on the deck on a sunny day. The tour is great.

Named after the city where it is now moored, The SS Rotterdam is one of a long line of ships of the Holland America line which carried thousands across the Atlantic to a new life in the United States. Now moored as a museum, restaurant and events venue in Katendrecht, south of the city center, the ship is a great... More

We are not cruise travellers and therefore were keen to experience some of the features whilst in Rotterdam. This vessel was very much central to cruising in the second half of the twentieth century rather than the huge monolith's that are currently in fashion. The era is of luxury and style and we were impressed by the quality of work... More

Beautiful location. Authentic ship. A (guided) tour is recommended to hear all the nice stories of the ship. Lovely to sit on deck and see the city skyline.

After having to leave Amsterdam a little earlier than expected we went down to Rotterdam to be nearer to the Hull overnight ferry. We decided to visit the Rotterdam as the reviews were all generally good and the tour was longer than we would have thought. As we are going on a cruise later in the year I thought it... More

We were in Rotterdam to take a cruise on the Holland America flagship Rotterdam, and took the opportunity to visit her predecessor, the De Rotterdam Steam Ship. It was well worth the visit, seeing how transatlantic travel was for the many people emigrating to the US and Canada in the 1950's. Class discrimination was still very much in evidence, and... More

You might not have the cash for a full blown trip on a cruise liner in the carribean, but this is something everybody can afford.. (especially if you have a discount deal), luxury on all decks, an art gallery and drinks with the captain.. (ok, maybe not with the captain) , but on a sunny day, on the promanade deck... More
