Well presented medical museum, not too dry. Personal favourite was the world's first dialysis machine.

An interactive and incredibly engaging museum, well thought through and amazingly enlightening. The Frankenstein exhibition was terrific. There was room dedicated to the evolutionary possibilities in humans...it was terrific. The use of artists in the displays was excellent.

A very interesting museum. We found out that a lot of medical advances came from Netherlands! They gave us an I-pad to use for English information; although there were a lot of interactive screens in English. Great visit!

Temporary exhibition based on "Frankenstein" is very bizarre. Check it out (June 2018). Be sure to get their iPad (free) for really getting immersed in the regular huge collection. I especially liked the interactive exhibits.

Covers many scientific topics, with many hands-on displays and noteworthy historical artifacts. Only regret is that more could have been in English for those of us who do not speak Dutch.More

We spent about 3 hours there, and could easily have stayed longer (we left at closing time). The anatomical theatre is beautiful and the introductory video is quite entertaining. Lots of science to explore, with many interactive displays to keep children (and adults!) entertained.

This is an awesome collection of artefacts, showing how science and medicine have evolved. The scale of the museum makes it comfortable to view everything in one go, but there’s so much depth that you’ll want to go back. What I loved was the way...More

Boerhaave is an exiting museum for adults, but for children as well! Since the 17th century quite some famous scientists were linked to Leiden (University). You will find them together with their discoveries & inventions. E,g, a full list of all Nobel price winners who...More

This is a good museum, especially for regionally specific history. My favourite section was the African section, specifically the history of afro-beat music. There's a lot of interactive exhibitions and the layout allows you to seamlessly move from one region to another without even noticing,...More

The Boerhaave offers a display of machinery that moved science forward. The museum is very interactive and my child loved it. We will be back
