There are historic wind mills all around Holland but I found this huge mill very interesting. In great shape and a wonderful self guided tour. Definitely worth the visit. The only downside, lots of construction outside which made photography challenging

Very informative tour of the windmill of Leiden and the history of windmills in general. Combining a video explaining the history as well as displaying the components that make up the moving parts of the windmill and also a display of what the living quarters...More

We were staying for a few days in Amsterdam, but got the train out here as I remembered the windmill was good from a couple of visits with my parents in the early 00's. It didn't disappoint. A well kept exhibit which allows you to...More

This is a well preserved place and interesting things are abound when inside. Careful going up and especially down the ladders on the top floors if you are a bigger person like me. Good view from the top though, and it is worth the climb....More

This is one great working towermill! The workings of the mill are explained very well, and there are nice views both from the low balustrade ('rondgang') and from the windows near the top. Be careful on the very steep and narrow stairs!

Interesting for all ages - however not suitable for people with mobility issues due to steep ladders. We liked the views from near the top and an insight into the history of windmills in Holland.

One of the best spots to visit in Leiden - even if you're not into windmills, this museum is a pretty fascinating look into how they work, and the view from the top is breathtaking!
