The tourist info office was good, spoke English and were quite helpful. I bought a small book with a walking tour of Gouda. The scale on the main floor was quite interesting. I didn't have time to visit the museum upstairs.

Interesting historical building once used for sighing cheese that's not used for tourist info. They sell cheese and other souvenirs, too.

This was on our "must see" list for our Netherlands holiday. I would say to do it if you are in town and have 30 minutes to spare. My wife adored it, but left me feeling slightly underwhelmed. It's fun though! It's a lovely building...More

The main function of this building for tourist should be the down stairs (free) area: VVV or tourist office. They have a small selection of goods for sale but they will also help you if you have any questions on what to do or see...More

It really isn't worth visiting the cheese museum in Gouda. The market was lovely (Thursday), but the cheese museum upstairs in the weighing house is grossly overpriced and not worth the visit. Just a few shabby exhibits and a man mumbling in 3 languages about...More

The Waag (weighing house) is also the tourist information, cheese shop and souvenir shop. The cheese museum is upstairs at a cost. You can weigh yourself on the old scales for a photo opportunity. You can also pay for a specific certificate as evidence you...More

We went to the weighing house with a cruise tour group. The main floor is a little shop, upstairs was where we had wine and cheese tasting. I don't recall a separate museum. But they open for business and everyone just... More

The museum is the Cheese Museum in Gouda and the building that houses it is called Waag i.e. the scales for weighing cheese. The museum has a web site in Dutch, I was unable to find an English version. I think the words... More
