It is very easy to miss Bagijnhofpoort as it tends to blend in with the other buildings along Oude Delft. It is the entrance gate to Bagijnhof and is intricately decorated but unfortunately has deteriorated over the years. It is one of many sights that can be seen the beautiful city of Delft.

The door is very ruined. Nearly unrecognizable figures. Easy to overlook when you pass by. Not a real site to see.

This is a small city gate at the western end of Delft. Unfortunately there is no signboard or illustration nearby and maintenance is far from ideal.

Not exactly sure what this is. We passed it by, but stopped for a minute to take a closer look; could not work out what it was and kept walking. Apparently it is supposed to be the remains of a Gate to the city, from much older times. There is a sort of relief at the top but it's virtually impossible to see what it is, at least from ground level. From a cultural and historical viewpoint it is certainly a significant part of local history. If you happen to pass by it, have a look and see what you can do about working out what it is....or may be just keep walking...

Beautiful historic gate in Delft. Not in as good a condition as many of the others in the city. I passed it while exploring Delft and was a tad surprised to see it come up as a suggested place to rate. I say that not because it isn't nice, it's just that Delft is so full of such fine historic golden age sites that this one is a bit down the list. Lovely though if you're passing.

We visited the Bagijnhofpoort during the Kingsday festivities and was very busy. The Dutch people were selling there secondhand items all over Delft and we were fortunate to be part of the festivities. The Bagijnhofpoort area in Delft should not be missed.

Similar to what most reviewers are saying, this place is just a historical gate, nothing especial here. I took some pictures and moved on.

Its history is interesting, but the sculptures are in rather bad condition. Try to get a leaflet about the history of this site: interesting!!

This old gate of Delft has suffered a lot from weather in centuries. That left little definition in the picture above your head when you walk through. It is small and only of historic value.
