Hoog Catharijne is a big shopping centre within Utrecht. It is really close to the railway station and other transport links including buses and trams.
There are a wide variety of shops within the centre including Primark, Lego Store, Jumbo and some high end stores as well.
Fortunately there is air conditioning in the centre which is well received when it's hot outside.

Hoog Catharijne is a large, modern shopping mall right next to Utrecht's railway station. It is a huge complex full of international brands. A pleasant place to spend some time before catching a train.

We had a short stay in Utrecht. This is one place we wanted to see. It’s one of the largest malls in the Netherlands. They have tons of shopping and several dining options. It’s located near the central station.

It's really sad that the sanitary facilities are closed and that there is no clear indication of where to go. Following signs always takes you back to the same place. Eventually found temporary sanitary facilities where you had to sit with your knees drawn up to close the door. In the end I still had to pay 80 cents. Isn't there an administrator here who is responsible for the state of affairs???

It is the best mall in Utrecht and may be The Netherlands. It has a lot of shops, restaurants, cafe, mega stores and Crown Plaza Hotel. It is next to Utrecht central train station. It is next to historic Utrecht center, canals and boats.

The Hogg Cathharijne is a large indoor shopping linking right to the main train station , buses and trams.
Shops of all nominations to peruse, plus eateries ,banks, etc
More building going on a the front which will make it even bigger.
Well worth a look if your a shop aholic .

This is a large indoor shopping center located at the train Central Station. Very easy to find from anywhere in the city center. Great for rainy or cold weather time to shop. They have all types of shops including grocery, speciality foods, bakeries, pharmacies, clothing and shoe stores, and many restaurants and cafes. Everything you need in one place. Not opened on Sunday so plan to visit on other days.

How did a shopping mall make the attractions list of Tripadvisor. I don't know, but it was easier to navigate toward Hoog Catharijne than to the train station when I got ready to go back to Amsterdam. And since I went through the mall I discovered that much of it was being remodeled for new merchants. I also found something else I would never have expected to find in a shopping mall--a shoe repair shop, where I was able to replace a shoelace which I had broken.

This mall is directly connected to Utrecht Centraal and lets you traverse a main thoroughfare on the way to the center of the city and its attractions. Hoog Catherijne won't be surprising if you find it in the US or any Asian shopping capital, but since it's in Utrecht, a city full of historic buildings, it's quite unexpected.
The mall contains a lot of stores and brands you'll find in the Netherlands and abroad. I haven't checked the prices but for a more charming shopping experience, you can walk a little further into the city center and shop at the old buildings/rowhouses that contain H&M, Mango, Zara, C&A, Nike and other modern brands.

The centrally located mall is adjoining the Utrecht central railway station having an access to the station from the main street. Large number of shops and a variety of cafes - we managed a steal for the missus - a few jackets, at Primart.
