DomUnder gives a wonderful insight in Utrecht's long history. You will feel like a real archeologist and spot Roman remnants next to mediaval ones. A century old water pipe brings all the historic layers into perspective. When you visit Utrecht, go Dom up and also DomUnder.

It was another rainy day but we didn't want to just sit in a cafe or hotel room, so we did a little searching and decided to give this a try. If you like Roman ruins and history it's a pretty cool tour. There is some introduction by the staff, then you get to enter the ruins and explore on... More

Great place. When you enter, you'll get a talk by one of the guides first. The talk will take about half an hour and the guide will tell you a lot about the history of the dom square from the beginning of ages untill now. After half an hour, you'll walk to the actual DOMunder. You'll get a flashlight and... More

After an introduction by one of the enthousiastic guides at a nearby location you get the possibility to explore the history of Utrecht, underground below the Dom square, in a former archeologic excavation. With a lamp you have to discover sensors that start your personal audio explanation of what you are looking at, remainders of medieval and roman history. Recommended!

We liked the novelty of this underground tour. We had an excellent guide who gave us an interesting history lesson prior to our going down under. This introduction was essential to our understanding of what we saw below. The tour was well organised and the guides, one spoke in English the other Dutch were friendly and helpful. Recommended tour.

Absolutely fascinating! You learn a lot about the region and the city as well as the church. The tour guides were very interactive and informative. Most of the tour is self guided through the ruins with the help of a "smart flash light". This tour is a must!

When in Utrecht, this is a must. The tour is done with 2 separate guides, 1 for english and 1 for dutch. It's an interactive tour involving shining miners lamps onto sensors at different stages of rubble to further hear commentary. The tour is an hour and a half long that just seems to fly. It's very slick and pretty... More

Well presented and with didactically adequate material for all age groups. The volunteer guides did a great job! The discovery of the wealth under the ground by individual discovery is a great way to explore!
