    Could be better....
Bit dry for me. Lots of facts followed by lots more facts. They have tried their best to make it interesting. More stories of the people who lived during the times covered would make it more accessible. Bit too dry for kids. They got bored.

Great educational experience for anyone that likes archaeology
Great experience for anyone interested in archaeology. The tour was split into two parts - a talk about the history given by a guide in either Dutch or English, then a walk around the site with audio guides (Dutch, English, and German language options). The walk itself was shorter than expected. I like taking my time to look at things, so it felt hurried. But for the average person, I think the speed was ok.

    Excellent English tour
They had 3 tour guides, so were able to separate everyone who had booked at our time into English, Dutch and German speaking groups, which was much appreciated. You also get a pointer / torch / audio guide after the introduction so you can explore the roman and medieval ruins under the Dom Square at your leisure. It was very interesting and easily took up 1.5 hours.

Last Friday I visited DOMunder, it was a small group of 4 and Our guide was very enthusiastic about the history of the Dom plaza. We could ask many questions, and After 30 minutes, we watched a movie. After that we went outside and entered the DOMunder area where we walked through history with lights that switched on sensors, who told a short story. Finding all the sensors was quite a challenge. In summary I learned a lot about the history of Utrecht in a pleasant way. Please note, DOMunder is walking in the dark and the stairs might be hard for elderly persons.

1 hour guided tour in the underground of the DOM cathedral and the DOM Tower at the price of 12.50 euros. At the moment it is not completely ready for foreign tourists to visit in English. However a guide offered to explain the whole tour to me in English. Interesting the part with the torches in search of sensors in the Roman ruins that activate an explanation (these are available in English). It is worth a visit ... even if some details could still be improved, such as the audio and video quality of the introductory film and also the lights in the excavations to enhance the site.

What a fascinating tour! Our guides were very informative but gave just enough so we didn’t get too much information overload and get bored.
The tour was in English and they were both very clear and easy to understand. When we finally got to go underground we were able to take ourselves around with an audio guide but the tour guides were still there to answer any questions or offer assistance :)

There’s lockers provided to store bags as these aren’t allowed in!

Definitely worth a visit especially if it’s your first time in Utrecht :)

The tour is a mixture of talk by an enthusiast, video & underground exploration. It takes you through the history from the earliest Roman times to the modern time. The only slight disappointment was the underground exploration as I couldn’t get the equipment to work reliably - great concept though.

DOMunder is a simple concept capturing nearly 2000 years of history .. wow. The story is well explained and well reinforced. Easy for English visitors to follow. A really good way to learn about the history of Utrecht in 90 minutes.

This is a recommendable experience to learn a bit more about the Dom or let's say the missing part of it. With attention to detail, the experience is lovely executed. Go back in time and learn what happened with the origins of the city of Utrecht.

we visited with our Dutch relations and had a great time. Our group was aged from 10 to 49. The guides spoke excellent English. After being given a short talk on the history of the Dom we watched a short movie and then moved on under ground for the main attraction. Each person has their own torch and chooses the language they want. You then search the ruins to find the infra-red cameras to start the audio. It is a great way of interacting with the relics and is great fun for the kids to search out the cameras. 2 further films also provide more information. When you are finished the guides provide an iPad and you can look at how the area used to look in different periods of time. It is one of the best interest-active archeological sites we have been to. Well worth a visit regardless of your age.
