This light walk is charming and gives you an excuse to wander around Utrecht after dark, taking you to new corners of the old town. Not every light 'show' is impressive, but some are really lovely. The mere concept is great: I wish my hometown had something similar. The mobile app is very well made, maybe even necessary to understand... More

We've taken a boat tour of Trajectum Lumen (playing tourist in our own town) and it certainly did not disappoint. The city is beautifully lit and you get a completely different view from the water. The boats are very quiet and the guides were very friendly. Would definately recommend it to anyone visiting Utrecht.

The illuminated path is a great way to see the city as it goes through most of the sightseeing spots in the old center. The added value is of course that in the night, with the light installations on some of the spots it looks even more special and cool. Have a drink in some of the bars on the... More

This tour was amazing! The start was a little confusing because the first light event was out of order (there were a few other lights out also). The path was fairly easy to follow. Took us 2 hrs since my wife loves to take pictures. Also, they have an app that is a MUST if you want to do this... More

This is a great way to walk around Utrecht and also have a little fun. You can pick up the map online (free) and walk around yourself once its dark. This takes yo uaround most important tourist parts of the city and also little local nooks and corners. It is a great post-dinner activity (during summers) or pre-dinner (during winters)... More

Picture an old city with a nighttime walk in which the route is picked out by coloured lights and arrows in the pavement. It's free, it's interesting and it's inventive. It isn't just floodlit buildings - there's also lights playing in tunnels, along canals, and lights shining through stained glass panels.

We visited Utrecht in December and were blessed w a beautiful evening to walk the Trajectum Lumen around the Dom and canal area. We saw so much of Utrecht this way and were impressed by the "light art" created by university students. Well worth the walk and a glass of wine after at one of the many wine bars on... More

The trajectum lumen it's a good way to discover Utrecht by night. It makes you notice interesting details of Utrecht that you might otherwise not notice. If you have a free night in Utrecht it's worth a shot.
