A great way to see this beautiful city in a different way. It is an activity that isn't as relaxing as being in a tour boat, as those who are pedaling work hard! But it is so much fun! My 10 year old daughter pedalled with her dad, while I sat in the back. Yes, she has to sit towards the front of the seat. Oh and there was a pooling of water. And yes, we did hit things sometimes; but tiller steering on any type of boat is sensitive to slight movement. And that was with my hubby and daughter taking it in turns of steering. If you are reading other reviews and are unsure, I recommend to definitely give it a go, but only if you are someone who likes having fun and doesn't want to pick apart an activity for possible flaws.

Wanted to see the sights of Utrecht as well as work off a few big meals and this was the perfect solution. Warning, this is a long loop, and if it's hot you'll get a sweat on, but it was a great way to see the beauty of the town. Highly recommended.

A fantastic 1.5 hours of paddling. My wife is 5ft2inches and needed a cushion to allow her to reach the pedals. Definately need the full time allocated and a couple of cushions for comfort.

Lived in Utrecht 10 yrs, never been on the water. Now I've seen the whole Oude Gracht and the East Stadsbuitengracht from the water with my kids, it was awesome, took about an hour and a half. You shouldn't be in a hurry, sometimes you need to wait for a pedal boat.

We thoroughly enjoyed a sunny hour or so touring the Oudegracht by pedal boat. It was relaxing although hard work and scenic; a great way to see the city. Follow the guide pamphlet though unlike us.

We rented a paddle boat and followed the canal loop through the city. It's a beautiful view of the city, the guide pamphlet describes many of the buildings and sites along the way. It could be a little more specific about which turns to take, so be careful. And it's a one way loop, once you start you have no choice but to finish and it's a good workout for an hour and a half. But it was fun and less commercial than the tour boats.

We enjoyed spending a sunny Sunday afternoon on the pedal boats through the canals of Utrecht. It is a lovely pedal with interesting views and you get a brochure with history of what you see!

By a canal bike sightseeing the city. You can book a trip and can hop in a canal bike that fits up to 4/5 people. First two have to do the work by peddling the boat/bike forward. The tour takes about an hour, depending on how fast you go and the other traffic in the canals.
You'll get a map with the route and information about history etc of the things you'll see along the way.

Really nice way to see the city! Don't forget to take some drinks and/or food with you. You will get thirsty.

The trip around the center is really nice. Escpecially the part on the 'niewe gracht' shows Utrecht from a persective you wouldn't see otherwise. Be aware that the trip can be quite exhausting for the two people on the front seats (who are moving the boat), espacially if the boat is manned with 4 people.
