Plan to take a bus or taxi to this fascinating little house designed by Gerrit Rietveld for Maria Schroeder and her kids in 1924. The highly functional home built as a cube with fascinating features that makes you wonder why it's not in your own home. Sliding walls transform a single room into 2 bedrooms, bath and kitchen. Be sure... More

I've been to the Rietveld-Schröder house ages ago, as part of my studies (building engineering). The house is full of clever solutions to make optimal use of the space. The architect was also a master of relative sizes. Everything is in proportion. The famous chair is there to see as well. As others have said, the house is quite small.... More

There is a lot of information about this house online but I urge to go and look at it in person. If you are interested in design and architecture there is a lot here to enjoy. The house itself is a revelation but it's presented well too. There is an informative video to watch before you visit (in the reception/ticket... More

I was surprised, that this house is so small. It is nice, but really small and maybe it is more better to see it on the pictures, than in real. During our picture taking 15 minutes from outside, there was 5 teenagers who stopped next to us and catch their Pokemons, but not interested in the house, only on their... More

We finally got to see the famous house. After almost a hundred years still magic how the loft like upper room is transformed into individual rooms. See how architecture comes together from glass and paint and walls and beams. Piece of livable sculpture.' Ask at the Utrecht train station which bus to take out here. They are very nice. There's... Wonderful visit to this pre-modern, modern house. As a fan of FLW, it was interesting to see the precursors of many of his themes.

This is a must see for anyone interested in architecture. The typical style translates in the guided tour itself: simple, pragmatic and not destracting.

Although that I've lived in Utrecht for 30 years I never visited the inside of this remarkable house. And I regret that I didn't do that before. The way how this house was designed and build was really groundbreaking. You should definitely arrange a visit to the house when you like architecture.

This Unesco world heritage museum isnt cosy but a buff if you like architecture with a modern view. The entirior lacks the feeling of home. But the 1st floor is really interesting since all its walls are movable, so nothing seems as it is Just remember to book tickets online - there are 4-5 tours daily with 11 only people... More
