Although that I've lived in Utrecht for 30 years I never visited the inside of this remarkable house. And I regret that I didn't do that before. The way how this house was designed and build was really groundbreaking. You should definitely arrange a visit to the house when you like architecture.

This Unesco world heritage museum isnt cosy but a buff if you like architecture with a modern view. The entirior lacks the feeling of home. But the 1st floor is really interesting since all its walls are movable, so nothing seems as it is Just remember to book tickets online - there are 4-5 tours daily with 11 only people... More

What a delightful surprise was uncovered in the tour of this architecturally designed house. Built many years ago but with so much to offer and delight anyone with an interest in architecture and homes. A first class little tour which we found interesting and were so glad we had made the effort to book online prior to arriving in Utrecht.

The small house can be toured by no more than 12 at a time, each given his/her own audio guide, very easy to use, available in several languages, and self paced. The website says advance tickets are a must, but I took a chance and just showed up and was able to join a tour right away. A museum guide... More

More modest than any grand bourgeois home, captivating in its simplicity. A uniue icon of early 20c interior design and exterior architecture in De Stijl. Well restored. You MUST book in advance as it is a very limited tour and space. Easy to get to by bus but do allow enough time.

If you are interested in architecture, the visit to that house is a reason to come to (the very beautiful and lively) Utrecht. We have reserved tickets in advance, and that is a good thing to do as the number of visitors is limited and the place is off the city center (there is a bus line that suites). Although... More

Do yourself a favour. This is a must see. So much so, that you might want to take a day between and book another visit before you leave town. Let your innovative thinking capacities be inspired by how far Reitveld takes the conditions of his time into a new dimension. ( if you can take a bike to the location....... More

One of the things you have to visit when you're in Utrecht. You get an audio guide who takes you into the wonderful world of Rietvelds architecture. Absolutely fascinating!

Rietveld built this house in 1926, but - apart from the old-fashioned materials such as metal window frames, single glass windows etc. - I would love to live in it today. The creativity in designing the living space, the sliding doors, the possibility for changing the house according to your needs is up there with the most modern architects, and... More
