We didn't go into the Kasteel, we walked around its extensive park and that was a very pleasant way of spending an hour or two. .

There are changing art exhibitions and a small permanent display of the castle's history. The gardens and parks around are just beautiful. Also excellent place for photography

Castle Groeneveld is owned by Staatsbosbeheer, the sort of Dutch equivalent to UK's National Trust. They manage a sizeable amount of the nature reserves in the Netherlands. This place, on the outskirts of Baarn, has beautiful grounds for a walk - often there are outdoor art exhibits. The castle itself has regular tours on most days, charging an entance fee... More

A great area to wander around! even walking from baarn, you can walk through forest, fields, and then arrive at the beautiful gardens and rivers where the castle is! never went inside, but regularly admire the area around! :) The restaurant at the castle is very good food, and worth something light to break up your day! :)

Castle is beautiful outside and well preserved. But it is really for a walk in the gardens. All seasons give something special. Autumn is beautifully colored with all the leafs. Winter is nice with snow. Go for a walk.

The place is basically a former landowner's villa turned into a conference center. There's a 5€ entrance fee (as of May 2, 2014) but it's not worth of as inside the building the only original things you see are the paintings on the walls. The second floor is turned into an exhibition room for contemporary artists. The "Muizenhuis" is good... More

The grounds are free for a walk. When you want to visit the interior, be advised that the stately rooms are often rented out to corporations for seminars, so they cannot be entered. I didn't know this prior to my visit, so a bummer!
