You won't find tourist around this area (not much) as it's more than an hour ride from central Amsterdam.

Once you get down at the last bus stop you can ask few locals how to get to the light house, as for me and my husband we just keep walking towards the ocean and we found the light house. It's so quiet and beautiful.

There are restaurants in the small town itself and few coffee house. There's a toilet around the lighthouse so don't worry😀.

30 minute walk from Marken old village through farmlands. Nice lighthouse showing the way to Amsterdam. Good views from this point.

A beautiful setting and lovely scenery with the lighthouse at the remote tip of Marken island. Only way to get there is by foot or bike over a 2km distance (often with a windy return). Only drawback is the fact that you can't visit the lighthouse.

We had to pay for the only parking (3 euros per hour!) and then renting a bike (paying) to reach the place… When we came back to the parking we had to pay (again) for the WC. Since is a normal place (nothing special) and you have to pay for everything you do, doesnt worth it at all. There are many other more interesting places to visit in Holland!

We enjoyed the walk to reach the lighthouse. The horses chests and green yards it was like we are living there and many locals were so friendly. It’s challenge with 3 yrs old ;) but managed and made it

During summer this is a great place to hang out on the little beach near the lighthouse. In winter time the surrounding area looks great when the temperatures drop below zero. The lighthouse makes a forlorn impression in between the creaking ice shelves. In any season this is a must see when you visit the former island of Marken.

It’s not so easy to get there, from the parking spot it’s around 25minutes walking. But beautiful nature and finally lighthouse. Very very calm place, almost nobody is there.

This lighthouse is pretty nice. They say it’s pretty old and has been there for over 100 years. It’s worth a quick look.

Photogenic lighthouse on the eastern end of Marken peninsula/island. Unfortunately it is a private property co you cannot get very close to the lighthouse, but it is still an enjoyable view. If you are already in Marken take a walk/ride your bike here as well.
