    Only if you like flowers!
Nice concept. Additional charges for boat ride and other experiences. Worth a visit. Very well kept. Maybe more indication and signage would be helpful. Coffee shops get very full and difficult to find seating. Souvenir shops overpriced. The fields on the outside look like good photo shoot spots. Booked tickets on get your guide and also included the 3 day unlimited travel tickets. Was well worth it!

    Great gardens poor food
Beautiful gardens well worth a visit to see the spring flowers. The only thing that let's them down is the food. Without doubt the worst food we have experienced in the Netherlands and way over priced. Wished we had brought our own food, they must know the poor offering they are serving to their guests!

Must see and experience Keukenhof Gardens!
We visited Keukenhof Gardens on the first day they were open in March 2024. We bought tickets, parking and booklet prior to arrival. They were extremely organized with parking and entry was a breeze. The flowers and scenery were gorgeous. They also had performances that were entertaining. This is a must see if you are in the Netherlands and lucky enough to be visiting during tulip season.

Booking ticket and bus combo from the Keukenhof website
Very nice time to visit, there are even cherry blossoms! High recommended! Just some soundbites about the bus... I booked the ticket and bus combo from the Keukenhof website and had to select a bus timing. Rushed to the bus boarding location to get there on time. However, discovered the time you booked the bus does not matter!? Everyone joins a long queue and takes the next bus that is available... hmmh. Also, while the bus trip is not that long, the seats are quickly taken up and if you prefer not to stand on the bus, just wait for the next bus. Note, where you are waiting to board the bus (I boarded from RAI) and also when you are waiting for the return bus at Keukenhof, there is no shelter.

    Fabulous visit.
Fabulous place to visit. We went on the 21st March & we managed to get about 3 seasons of weather in the one day. We boarded the ferry to catch the coach, very easy but when we got off the ferry it was hailstones. We had a break from those as they only lasted a very short while then we had rain & if you blinked you may have missed the sun. It was so cold we went to the shop & bought a hat & gloves. The flowers were beautiful & the undercover displays were very colourful & looked gorgeous. The cafe wasn’t too busy & cake & coffee very nice. Already getting organised to book next year but will leave it a couple of weeks later so hopefully it won’t be so cold. Been twice before but can’t help but to keep re visiting. Everyone should go if they can.

    Absolutely Stunning
The best garden we have ever seen. Ignore anyone that tells you this is not worth seeing. Was it cold, yes. Was it crowded, yes. Was it worth it, absolutely! Recommend getting to the park early to avoid the midday crowds. We arrived at 8am and had the place to ourselves for the first hour. Even though it was early in the season, much was still in blooom. It took use around 3 hours to make it around the entire grounds but we were blown away. If you are considering going, just do it.

    Beautiful but busy!
A lovely experience with many tulips (and other flowers) in bloom even though we went early in the season. The only negative was the queue for the bus…even though we were pre-booked and given a departure time, it seemed a free for all once you got to the pick up point. Apart from that, and having to stand on the overcrowded bus both there and back, it was great.

A blaze of colour well worth a visit
The two months when the flowers are in bloom at Keuchenhof is well worth a visit. The well manicured gardens on the flat paths make snaking your way round from the windmill to the lake a real pleasure. The senses are not only experiencing the riot of col but also the perfume from the hyacinth beds is magnificent.

Overall good but the bus transport is badly organized
We went on with the prebook bus option. Although it says you have to strictly follow your timeslot, we went running and taking an uber to the bus, so eventually not saving any money, to find out that it doesn’t matter at what time you booked, there was a huge 1 hour queue in the cold. Worse for the return as we waited more then an hour to get on a bus and travel in the traffic standing, when supposedly there were sitting tickets only. So the organization of transport is bad but the place is worth it. Overall very good hence the transport.

May is the perfect time to see tulips in Amsterdam and I definitely recommend visiting Keukenhof (it's about 45 minutes from Amsterdam with tons of buses and tour companies going there all day long, every day). I would rate this as the best place I've visited on a trip. It was amazing. And beautiful. And oh so many tulips. Even if you don't love tulips, you'll wander around this place in absolute awe at their beauty and the variety of colors.

We arrived on a weekday around 11am and it wasn't too busy. They provide maps as there is a lot to see. I think we spent about 4.5 hours total and saw everything on the map. Aside from the gorgeous tulip displays, there's other stuff like cool art mixed in, a windmill that you can climb up into and see up close, a scenic boat ride (10 euro for that), shops that sell a lot of tulip trinkets and seeds scattered around each area of the park, and places to eat. We went to one self service kiosk area that was great - plenty of seating, interesting food choices. The traditional apple cake is definitely worth trying! There were also places set up to showcase the history of Keukenhof over the years (it was the 75th anniversary when we visited) and one building dedicated to orchids. There's even a fun pond that you can "walk" across on stones that was quite popular.

The place definitely filled up the longer we stayed. It seemed like many people were there specifically for photo shoots and some of the displays and attractions were quite crowded and hard to look at, much less get up close. I recommend going early in the morning and leaving by early afternoon if you want to avoid the crowds. Also, while the gift stores were awesome and everywhere, the items were definitely pricey. You could find many of the same things for half the price at the Schipol airport and likely at other tourist shops around Amsterdam. Whether a tulip lover or not, it's so worth checking out!

Visited this place for the 2nd time after 10 years. Anyone who loves flowers, especially tulips, should visit this flower fairy tale at least once. If you have a car, it is better to buy a ticket to the park and parking lot in advance via the Internet - even on a weekday there are a lot of people, which is not at all surprising - the park is open only 2 months a year. We were there on April 23 - the peak of flowering. Over the past 10 years, the entrance to the park has changed - now it is an impressive structure with a cafe, souvenir shops, and a toilet. The park itself hasn't changed much. What has become much better is that many more tulips are planted in the park itself in the open ground, and not just in the pavilion. And there are many completely new varieties, the variety makes your head spin - well, how, how man and nature create such miracles! The park is beautiful - a riot of colors and floral scents. You can walk all day, but for a quiet inspection you need at least 4-5 hours. You can take a boat ride along the tulip fields (queue for at least an hour) or rent a bicycle. The prices in the cafe are quite high, but the coffee and ice cream (20 minutes in line) were delicious. We were lucky with the weather - the day was sunny and moderately warm, but as soon as we got on the bus, it started pouring. The amount of positive emotions from several hours spent in the park cannot be compared with anything.

I stayed in Leiden for several nights, and booked a combined bus ticket (number 854) online for the 7:30am bus ride on April 28th. The bus departed from platform H at the very end of Leiden Station about 40 minutes later, and arrived next to the park just before 8am. I was the first to enter the park and enjoyed a very luxurious morning in the deserted park.
The tulips are apparently timed to be in full bloom on the 27th, the King's birthday, and there were many varieties and colors I had never seen in Japan, and I was completely overwhelmed by the surprisingly large petals in full bloom.
I actually wanted to buy bulbs with an inspection certificate for North America, so I inquired at the Japanese quarantine in advance, but they said that a certificate for Japan was required, not a certificate for North America. The quarantine had never seen bulbs with a certificate for Japan, and there was no precedent for them allowing imports, so I gave up. I wanted to plant about 100 of them in my garden at home, so it's a shame. On the way back, I took the bus (number 858) to Schiphol Airport and headed to Amsterdam, but the stop was not next to the airport but a little further away, so I had to walk more than I expected.
There are about four bus routes to the park, and I took the one from Leiden. The view along Leiden's canals in the early morning was amazing, and the huge crepes were delicious, so I felt like I had immigrated to the country. Although the Netherlands is not a prominent tourist destination, it is very comfortable compared to other European countries, and I think the main reason for this is the warm and friendly character of the people.
The train and bus systems are well-developed and punctual, and the stations are more modern and cleaner than those in Japan.

Visiting Keukenhof is one of the best things I've ever done! The gardens were much bigger than I expected and the tulips were truly unbelievable - I had no idea there were so many varieties. It's just spectacular!

We went on a cold, wet morning and booked for the 8am bus from Europaplein. I had contemplated changing our booking to the afternoon when the weather was due to improve but I am so glad I didn't! Arriving early in the morning, there weren't many people about and it was easy to get great photos, there were no queues for the coffee shops or for the lovely souvenir shops. The rain was intermittent but there's good cover in the park as well as a couple of large halls where you can duck into so really don't worry too much if the weather forecast is grim.

You're allowed to take food and drink in and there are loads of benches all over the park where you can sit and eat.

We didn't experience any crazy bus queues as mentioned in previous comments; perhaps because we went early. However there is no bus specifically designated for each time slot ie. there is no 8am bus - you just arrive on time and stand in line until the bus arrives but they are frequent.

We spent about 4hrs there and I think the cost of the ticket (€37) which included the return bus trip, was great value.

There was nothing I didn't like about Keukenhof.

We were there on the first weekend in April. The weather was great, 24 degrees, slightly cloudy. The crocodiles had already faded, but most of the other flowers were in full bloom. The flowers are beautifully arranged, but the paths are relatively narrow, and when people stop to the left and right for photos, the passage is very narrow, especially when it is as busy as it was this weekend. You should book tickets well in advance, including the whisper boat tour through the tulip fields, otherwise there are no tickets at the ticket office or you have to wait a long time for the boat tours. There is a large children's playground, there are many stalls with snacks and food, but also lots of green spaces that are perfect for picnics.

We recommend that parents with children who are not of school age visit during the week, as it is really crowded at the weekend. There was a little surprise for the children at the end, each of them received a bag of flower bulbs (gladiolus).

This is what heaven must be like.

Absolutely Amazing! My mother and I went to see this in late April and we were both fully blown away. We got there at opening time at 8am and that was really worth it as the first hour for us was really quiet and we got to experience the flowers in silence and listen to the birds. We pre-purchased our tickets online prior but there doesn't seem to be a limit on numbers and we saw people buying tickets at the front gate. Everything was really perfect. The numbers of flowers, the way that they were arranged, and how they were integrated into the landscape with trees, streams, ponds, bridges, and sculptures. Truly amazing! We spent 7.5 hours there and felt that we saw most of the area. We laughed a bit at the petting zoo, which seemed to have one really dirty sheep and two goats but we really came for the flowers. Tickets were about $20 Canadian per person, which was incredibly cheap for what you get--tremendous value for that price. The whisper boat was about 45 minutes and cost something like $25 Canadian per person and it was well worth it. A good chance to sit down after a lot of walking! The electric boat took us away from the treed ground of Keukenhof and out in the tulip fields where there were row upon row of various colored tulips in large fields that went on for hundreds of metres. It was really astonishing and totally worth it. They provide recorded tours in multiple languages on headphones. We stopped several times for tea, snacks and had lunch. There is are about 12 different shops on the grounds that sell souvenirs and provide drinks and food and pretty reasonable prices. Overall for the entire day with entrance, whisperboat, snacks, a few small souvenirs, drinks, and lunch I spent about $155 Canadian (about 100 Euros). 10/10 I would go back again and again and again.

Caught the bus from Amsterdam Rai for the 8:30am slot on a Saturday in early April. The bus took around 35 mins to get there. It wasn't too busy when I arrived just after 9 and I got some breakfast (cost me around €7 for a small black coffee and vegan brownie). The gardens had enough to see you could easily spend a whole day in the area. I'd recommend visiting earlier on as it does get busy around midday and will be harder to get cute pictures. The gardens smell lovely and will be a visual treat. Lots of different food options scattered around the gardens too. I wanted to hire a bike and ride around the nearby tulip fields but unfortunately the tulips outside of the garden weren't in full bloom yet. Top tip if you are catching the bus back to a city, make sure you give yourself plenty of time! It was a long wait and a long queue and this can waste a lot of time.

Although it is late in the tulip season, the gardens are planted with late-blooming tulips, so you will be overwhelmed by the number of tulips you have never seen before! Each area is like a farm, and you can enjoy different planting methods on each farm, so the same tulips look different and are beautiful no matter where you look.

If you purchase a boat cruise on the day of the gardens, you can only purchase tickets for late hours, so if you know your plans in advance, I recommend making a reservation on the website.

The boat cruise takes you on a 40-minute tour along the waterways outside the gardens, but when I went in May, the tulips had already been harvested, so I was unable to see the entire tulip field. I think the best time to see the tulips is until mid-April.

The number of people increases rapidly after the afternoon, and the roads to the entrance are congested, so I recommend visiting in the morning.

The park is undoubtedly gorgeous and very well looked after. It's worth the visit!
Consider at least 3 hours because it is very large.
Unfortunately, we went when the season was almost over.
On May 3rd most of the flowers had faded (I don't understand how it can remain open until May 12th...). For this reason I would sincerely discount the ticket for those who go at the end of the season.
The few flowers that were not ruined were still very beautiful.
Without a doubt it must be a marvel at the beginning of the season.
I recommend going there in the early hours of the day (we arrived at 9.30 and it was already filling up: at 11 it was impracticable!!!)

Keukenhof gardens themselves, 5* Lots of other reviews will be more poetic, but it was v.clean, well maintained, flowers were spectacular and plenty space even if there are thousands of people around!
HOWEVER, beware the Keukenhof Express from Amsterdam RAI / Europaplein - they are supposed to have timed tickets for the coaches to Keukenhof, that is nonsense; you get there and the staff say "just join the line, doesn't matter what time on ticket", so you join the massive queues (took us about 1h10m to get on the coach and that was standing room only!).

For the way back, it was slightly better: they said that buses left every ten minutes ... but there was still another big queue and a 45minute wait.

Both queues were poorly managed, with a few dodgers pushing in and it was difficult to tell where the queue was and for which bus?

I would definitely visit Keukenhof Gardens again, but I would not recommend their approved Keukenhof Express coach run by Arriva.
