The Goois Natuurreservaat is a small patch of wonderful nature trapped between several urban environments. Thanks to the enforcement of the height of apartments in the surrounding cities, you barely see any hint of buildings peeking above the lines of trees around the edges of the area. If you are looking for a background for film projects or photo-shoots in a nature setting, this place comes highly recommended, especially around 2 hours before sunset during the 'golden' hours. During the summer there is a big chance you can cows and bulls on-site and the occasional hare or if you are lucky, a fox (especially in the morning). There are plenty of bike paths as well, but I do recommend checking your tires and bike-chains. The paths are dusty, and the smaller paths do test your suspension. Keep in mind plenty of people with dogs walk around on sunny days, and horseback riders. Car users: I do recommend to park your car at the following locations instead of setting your GPS (sat-nav) to the address on this site: - Erfgooiersstraat, Hilversum (crossing with De Kuipstraat, or Graaf Wichmanstraat) You can park your car across the edge with the trees, and within minutes you are surrounded by nature. - At the Day Camping at the N525 road (just before entering the city of Hilversum) This is a small field where people can camp for free during the day. Keep in mind on sunny days people tend to gather here for a BBQ or to hang out, so it might be a bit noisy. - At the Restaurant La Place, also on the N525 but near the onramp to the A1. Keep in mind during the day the parking spots are relatively full. They have spots where you can charge your electronic vehicle. - At the Randweg in Bussum, the entire street, and there is a parking at Restaurant Cafe Heldezicht at the 'end' of the street.…

The Natuurreservaat is a wonderful combination of woods (Spanderswoud), heath, and farm fields. There are little surprises everywhere - trenches from WW2, the delightful sculpture garden at Beeldentuin Zanderij in the southwest corner, a wonderful garden theehuis in s'Graveland, the remains of a turkish smoking tent, "little switzerland" up at the north end near the French Camp, farm-fresh vegetables and eggs for sale on a path sometimes ... miles and miles of paths for bicycles, horses, people. A perfect place to get lost and find yourself calmer and happier.…

The place is huge with full greenery and giant trees. Very good for morning walks, jogging, family picnics or silent times. Easily accessible too though some walking required.

Goois Natuurreservaat has lots of small roads for active people. I don’t feel that it is really nature. It is more like a large city park with hundreds of dogs and dog owners. Anyway it is important park for many people. And dogs.
