This place is amazing!! My friend and I were totally blown away by the steam rooms, saunas and swimming pool. The restaurant is lovely too with great food and drinks. We wished we had found it sooner!

Beautiful place, where you can really rest. It's not too big and not too small - just cozy! And also perfectly clean. There is a restaurant in it, where you can find all you need - delicious food, healthy drinks and also beers ;)

I have been a few times when in the area and this is a lovely spa. The steam room with a cold shower just by the door and the main sauna are probably the highlights, with a pool that is really for lounging not swimming....More

Small but very cosy sauna. Friendly staff. The bubble bath is at a perfect temperature, and the steam bath is I believe one of the best in the Netherlands. Can only get a little bit too crowded at times

We had a hire car which certainly worked out cheaper for the 3 days. I would only guess a taxi or I think there was train / tram station fairly near by. Hope this helps

Advice needed - Tain station to Sauna van Egmond (3 Replies)
Can anyone advise what bus numbers you need to get from Haarlem train station to Sauna van Egmond and how frequent they run I presume you would get the bus directly outside the station. Many thanks

Hi there, Yes buses leave opposite station. Use journeyplanner.9292.nl. Depart: Train station, Haarlem. Destination: Van Egmondstraat 4, Haarlem. You'll see various bus lines and even maps from the destination stop to the sauna. Regards, <Erik> & [Sandya]

Sauna van Egmond ? (4 Replies)
We have a weekend in Amsterdam and want to visit Sauna van Egmond in Haarlem. We only have a few words of Dutch between us. Will we be welcome at Sauna van Egmond ? What is the best way to reach Haarlem from Amsterdam? Anyother advice for us? Thanks! Jan & Steve

Hi Jan & Steve, Visiting a sauna for sure is not restricted to locals! Usually plenty of expats or immigrants coming there, and the staff will know enough English to help you. Haarlem is 15 mins by train from Amsterdam, but then don't know how far this sauna is from the station. With an address or website can find that out for you too, presently a bit short of time for googling. All the best, <Erik> & [Sandya]

Will be in Haarlem in August and would love to go to this spa/sauna. I went to their website and saw the various packages (and even treied the free translation software available online, which helped a bit). Unfortunately, there's not much available in the Haarlem Forum. How long would you stay at the sauna? Is the food good for lunch? what are some treatments you would reccomend? We will be based in Amsterdam but will probably spend a day in Haarlem (hopeuflly riding there by bike) ...More

Without a package I would stay about 3 hours. With a package about 4 hours, but it really depends on how long you like to stay in a spa. The food is reasonable, not very special and some of the food is a bit high on calories but the menu is quite extensive (it is on the site in Dutch http://www.saunavanegmond.nl/index_menukaart.html) Sauna van Egmond has been discussed before: tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g188593-i1826-k150… and tripadvisor.com/…9405754
