The smallest certified zoo in the Netherlands is located in Haarlem. Don't expect to see the big five here there are mainly small wild animals such as Arctic fox, raccoon, porcupine, mink, skunk and nandoes to admire. A number of reptiles and insects can also be found there such as turtles, iguanas, geckos. The park is especially suitable for parents and grandfathers and grandmothers with children between 4 and 10 years. For the entrance fee you don't have to leave it because 3.50 for adults 2.50 for small children this is really not too much. An annual subscription, 8.50, is also possible. If you want to celebrate a children's birthday here with your little one, that is also possible. Please contact the management of the park. However, you should keep in mind that the park is not really suitable for people with walking difficulties or in wheelchairs. Even with your little one in a big buggy it will be a bit difficult but it can be stored near the cash register. If you come by car, parking is limited. By bus you can get there from the station with line 2.

People across the street might not even know it's there, the smallest zoo in the country. Open only in the weekend in the afternoons, so check opening hours in advance. Run by passionate volunteers who will explain to you everything there is to know about the animals over there.
The zoo itself looks almost urban Berlin. Easily reached by car or public transportation. It houses several of the more smaller exotic animals. You can easily spend and hour here, or even two if you bring kids that are studious. Costs around €2 for an adult and €1,50 for children. No pin available!
So go and enjoy yourself.

This is a super nice tiny zoo, with some species which you are not likely to see in bigger zoos. There is plenty of staff who are eager to tell you everything about the animals they care for.

Although the “zoo” is a bit run down what makes up for it is the friendly staff walking around that can tell you about the animals there and answer your questions.
It’s a great starter zoo to take your small children before venturing off to a bigger zoo.

Hidden zoo in a public park, but a great place to visit with young kids or at least young at heart. The knowledgeable staff will provide you with all the information on all animals. A lovely spot in Haarlem.
