Please make sure to get reservations before going or it will be a long wait most likely. This was the best tour museum visit I have ever been to. The guide was super knowledge and spoke perfect English. Her rendition of the life of the Ten Booms life and experiences were simply amazing. Please don't miss this place.

While Amsterdam has the Anne Frank House, Haarlem has the Ten Boom House. Anyone who has read the book The Hiding Place or watched the movie, hankers to knowing this place. It was the house where lived Corrie Ten Boom and her family, who helped and saved many Jews during World War II. The family was betrayed and arrested by... More

We visited after our Viking River Cruise. On our arrival in Amsterdam, we took the train to Haarlem. It was a short walk to the Corrie ten Boom house. I had read the book The Hiding Place and being here made the story come alive. We did not have reservations, but arrived early for the first tour. There was room... More

I did not know much about Corrie ten Boom and I'm so glad I made the visit to the house. The tour began with a guide who gave us the story of ten Boom family and the safe house. We then went upstairs to the hiding spot and other rooms. Though I didn't book ahead of time, the guide was... More

We took an English tour. The tour is free, but you give donations. The house is Corrie Ten Boom's house. Corrie wrote "the hidding place", and you get to see the actual hiding place and get the story of her life. The guides are entusiastic and very well informed, so don't hesitate to ask questions.

The most worthwhile thing to do in Haarlem! What a privilege to hear and learn about the courage about the ten Boom family. The volunteers are truly fulfilling their part in the great commission - telling the gospel to visitors from all nations! The best is yet to come! Casper ten Boom

A lesser known heroine of WWII who outwitted the Nazis in providing a safe house for persecuted Jews yet her story is just as fascinating and you probably won't have to queue for hours or book tickets months in advance to visit her former home. There are regular tours Tuesdays to Saturdays in either English or Dutch. You MUST join... More

After reading The Hiding Place and seeing the movie, we just had to visit. Less than 20 minute train journey from Amsterdam Central Station. Guided tour lasts about 90 minutes and is very personal in groups of 20 max. Extensive detail of the Corrie Ten Boom family history and the tales of the Jews they hid from the Germans. Well... More

It is all about the story. At first we were concerned it was cashing in the Anne Frank house but it is not. Its a whole new story about a remarkable woman and a remarkable family. It is a very moving and poignant story. It is alsobfeee. We made a donation and most people did. Me and a couple of... More

Above a shop that still sells watches, etcetera, just as in WW2, a lot of Jews could find a hiding place to escape the Shoa. Behind a faka wall there was room for several people. This alone is a great achievement of the lady of the house during the occupation: Mrs. Corrie ten Boom. Her stronmg christian belief stimulated her... More
