The museum is more a display of war related items. There is no story line or chronological line to follow, which makes it a bit messy. But the kids loved the guns, planes etc. The explanations are only in Dutch, which was fine for us,...More

History, views, and aquatic life. Something for the entire family. Museum provides a background of how war has affected the area, from when Napoleon had the fort built through its use by both the Dutch and Germans during World War 2. There are a number...More

It was interesting exploring the fort and the aquarium. However, it isn't a place that is value for your money. Something to do in Den Helder if you have a free day but wouldn't recommend heading there specifically for an outing.

Interesting museum. you learn a lot of the area and the fort during several wars. Also the aquarium with fish of the nortsea is nice. It is a pity that there is not so much interactive things to do for the kids. Some area's of...More

My 3 year old enjoyed the aquarium. It's not that big but some nice displays where you can get really close to the fish. The museum looked interesting but all details were in Dutch. It would have been nice if the exhibit details would be...More

The aquarium was great fun but we were less satisfied with the other part of the museum. We would like to find out the history of the fort since napoleon but it was an unchronological exposition of first and second war items.
