Neighborhood: Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.

If you're looking for a photo book, this may be the right shop. The collection is special. There is normal books but also an exceptional ones. Books with the signature of the maker / writer, or books with special boxes such as the book of Issey Miyake, with his own design bag. Very friendly staff. When you buy a book that is very heavy to carry it with you, they will send it to your house address

A small bookshop with art books and photos. Downstairs there you can find photos with original autographs of artists, actually quite pricey ones. Generally the place is a bit expensive but books are really nice, if you like art.

You find the bookstore in the posh side of town, surrounded by high-end clothes shops on the famous P.C. Hooftstraat. This is the perfect gift shop, whether for yourself or for others. The collection is quite extensive, ranging from art to architecture to odd x-rated topics. The service is outstanding, finally people who know what they are selling and can give you excellent advise. But therefore I left with a whole lot more than I anticipated.

Not only all Taschen books are available to flip and buy, but there's also a small photograph gallery in the lower floor, with stunning photographs and special editions. They're all a bit pricey (as expected) but still worth paying a visit.
