Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

This is such a gem to visit. It’s just a stones through from one of the busiest areas in Amsterdam yet it think everyone just walks past, except those in the know! The actual venue is super cool and they do wonderful drinks and snacks. We like to gorge on the croquettes and bitteballen, this cafe has a special place in my heart.

Lovely traditional bar close to the city centre. Cosy atmosphere, the bar is enlighted with candles and you can have at your disposal board games to play. We strongly recommend to have a go with the Blind Pig Honey cider! Moreover, bar tenders are very cool

Had a good selection of beer and even guided us on where to go for a brewery tour. Would definitely go back!

Good bar however bloke in bow tie working behind the bar had zero people skills, will only let you order in rounds and pay as a table rather than individually.

Fantastic bar just off Leidseplein…if you fancy a break from the touristy bars in the square and want a proper Dutch beer in a proper Dutch bar, served by lovely people, you can do no worse that head to Eijlders…fresh ‘snacky’ food also available to soak up those beers. Perfect.

Last night my wife and I visited Cafe Eijlders, we were very disappointed with the staff. Both bar men were better suited for any job other than customer facing.

A lovely and long standing traditional cafe / bar amongst a slew of more touristy bars. Well worth the visit. Barman greets everyone coming in and tales orders from the table. Candles on the table give a cosy feel when it’s dark outside. Good range of local beers and European wine list at reasonable prices. Password protected free wifi available Retains its 1940s charm and feels like a “find” without being touristy

A real great bar with a lot of history. Service is excellent with a good number of draft beers and of course the well-known 'bitterballen'. Their agenda shows a new exhibition each month and on each thrid Sunday poetry.
