Kimberley is an American who has lived in Amsterdam for years. She gives small walking tours of the red lighting district in the early evenings. Evidently tours will no longer be allowed as of January of 2020. Kimberley is knowledgeable and gives a good tour. No pictures out of respect for the workers and they deserve respect. Finish the tour with a glass of wine at a really cool bar. Totally recommend.

Thanks to Kimberley for our tour - she was extremely knowledgable about the red light district and it was wonderful to hear the history that goes behind this historic area in Amsterdam. Unfortunately we left the tour half way thru as it was torrential rain. I was gutted as I had been really looking forward to this tour but rain stopped us enjoying it. So sorry we left the tour unfinished but thanks for giving us an insight into the Red Light district.

We were happy to have a tour of the Red Light District because it was a very confusing area and packed with people on a Saturday night. It felt like a crowd on New Years Eve. This tour in particular wasn't what I expected. We met and were led to the area, walked through and Kim did explain a few things. We stopped for drinks after the tour and I assumed Kim had that planned and seats would be available for all. We were just lucky someone was just leaving and we happened to get a seat. I think you could certainly tour the district on your own depending on your comfort level. I would def check out other tours available to compare.

We had Kimberly as our guide. She knows her stuff and knows the area. If it is your first time to Amsterdam and to the Red light than a tour and orientation with Kimberly is the best way to go. After the tour we felt safe and comfortable walking around the red light area. She had a lot of insight to share and history. She is very friendly and nice. We had a variety of people on our group. And everyone walked away feeling better about the experience. I highly recommend signing up for the tour on tour first day or night in town.
