Did the tour on a Saturday evening, and it was chaotic, but interesting and fun. Kimberley did a good job of giving us a bit of general Amsterdam history, and provided the relationship of that to the history of the Red Light District. We did kind of a whirlwind tour, stopping every so often for the verbal components, over 90... More

Two couples with Kimberley for this tour and it was excellent. She was great with the local tidbits about the redlight district and the history and current vibe of the entire downtown area.

We were going to walk the area without a tour but decided not to...a choice we don't regret! Our guide Kimberly was excellent and knowledgeable. She's been doing the tours for 11 years and knows the area inside out. Ps the tour includes a drink at the end! There's lots of history to learn a very interesting area, well worth... More

Kimberley was charming and articulate. She led our group of seven through various streets, stopping frequently to provide stories. After about an hour and a half of touring she took us to a quirky bar where she offered us a beer, glass of wine or soda. She sat with us for another 1/2 hour sharing more stories. I suggest that... Great casual walking tour of the Red Light area of Amsterdam. Kimberly gives a lively tour with well based facts and insights of the sometimes eye popping area. Tour is stated to be 1.5 hours but with the last stop being one of the great Pubs in the area you may find yourself hanging around a bit longer talking with... More

Kimberly was a fun, lighthearted tour guide that guided us through the Red Light District. She met my expectations and gave some history that was very intriguing. I felt comfortable going through the Red Light District at night with her as our guide. The pub and drink at the end of our tour was a great way to get to... More

Kimberly aka Randy Roy is informative and a whole lot of fun. She takes you to places you would never find on your own and has great stories to go with it. The tour is reasonably priced and you get a drink at the end. We enjoyed her company so much that we actually hung out with her after the... More

We went in this tour at the recommendation of the conceigere at the Victoria hotel after a Viking River cruise. Such fun. Not only a guided tour of the Red Light district but extremely informative of Amsterdam and why there is a red light district. Felt extremely safe and such a good time

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
