The best chocolate cookies in Amsterdam!
My colleague from Schenker brought me cookies today. I never heard of Van Stapele cookies. I didn't heat them up but cold they are also delicious. Next time when I buy them I will try them warm. Thank you very much for the nice breakfast :)

It Is All About the Cookies!!
All the hype is true - these cookies are amazing. On a chilly rainy fall day, we waited in line at Van Stapele Koekmakerij for our opportunity to buy cookies! While waiting in line, we chatted with a staff member who was helping with crowd control. She told us that some patrons fly in once a month to stock up on the famous cookies. Our 30-minute wait was worth it. The Van Stapele shop is very small, but as you enter, you are able to watch staff make the popular Chocolate Cookies. We only bought four, but we should have gotten more. Absolutely delectable cookies!!

    Great cookie!
Really good cookie! I would say it's worth the wait in the queue but I would only do it once. I would possibly visit again if there was a much much smaller queue. The staff in there was absolutely lovely. Cookies also last a few days after buying too which was nice to know, and warming instructions on the box!

    Amazing!!!!
Oh my goodness! I heard about these cookies and I had to try them - they are a million times worth the hype. The que is long - around 25/30 minute wait and the que can be confusing if you've never visited before but they have two staff members outside to make sure people don't push in front. The cookies are amazing, you can smell the fresh cookies from walking past the shop. I ordered six as they had a deal on. They are obviously best while they are hot (as all cookies are) but they are amazing and I'll be coming here everytime I visit Amsterdam.

The best cookies I have tasted.
What a find. Made a purposeful trip having heard about these, and it was well worth the visit. Crispy on the outside, gooey in the middle and amazing chocolate taste, fairly sweet as you would expect, but not too much. May have to come back!

    Fantastic cookies
A friend recommended checking them out, and they definitely didn't disappoint. If you're a fan of chocolate or cookies, then it's a must try. The lineup wasn't too bad when I went for a sunny Sunday afternoon. Lineup started at the bridge where an employee gives you a token. They radio ahead to an employee standing next to the store where you give them the token. In all, it only took about 25 minutes before I was in the door to order. When you enter, you can definitely smell the chocolate. I only wish I had a glass of milk to wash the cookies down with.

    Great service & great cookies
Really beautiful well presented shop. You could see the cookies being made behind the glass which was really cool. The staff were really friendly & engaged with customers. I found the prices to be reasonable for such a popular place. I'd definitely recommend a visit as the cookies are so nice, especially when they are fresh & warm out the oven.

    Delicious Cookies
This cookie shop in Amsterdam is insane. It sells only cookies and only one type. We crossed the store multiple times and there was always a queue outside. Intrigued by the popularity, we decided to give it a shot. The cookies were amazing. The perfect amount of dark and sweet, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, filled with white chocolate. We absolutely loved their cookies. The pricing is on the higher side, but the indulgence is worth it. We got two packs back home in India, and our folks loved it too. I would absolutely recommend trying their cookies.

Nothing wrong with the concept. You make a nice cookie and you sell it in a place which you spent great care to make it look antique and quirkie, then you add an enormous layer of marketing. You make sure that all tourists fall in your trap, ensuere there are queues (seriously, for a stupid cookie?) and ask a tremendous amount of money. Incredible how many peope waste their time and money on this.

Really nice cookies indeed. That’s why on our last day (19/6) we went there at 09:30 waiting for 30 minutes to buy cookies for friends and family back home. We were a group of 8 people so 3 of us went there to buy cookies for all of us. They opened at 10:00 and one of us went inside to buy 9 boxes. They refused to sell to him, saying only 3 boxes each person. We got inside the other 2 so we can buy 9 boxes, 3 each. Again they said no is 2 boxes each. This unprofessional. I know you have a lot of customers every day but that doesn’t mean you have to put limit on the quantity people want to buy. This is unacceptable we were waiting to buy for all of us and we explained but you refused so we left with 6 boxes only. If you don’t want to have unsatisfied customers because some other customers want to buy big quantity then change the size of your production. You already know that the customers you have are more than your production and people must wait for long time in lines to buy. I don’t want to give you terrible review because your product is really nice. But change your company’s policy on the quantity each customer can buy.

Van Stapele's chocolate cookie comes warm from the oven, and it is delicious! Not to mention, the small store is adorable. The line did not take too long. On one January Saturday morning at 11AM, there was no limit and i waited about 10 minutes in line. On a Monday at noon, there was a 7 per person limit, and the wait was about 5 minutes.

We were on a boat tour with a group of friends in Amsterdam and Captain Axel of Those Dam Boat Guys says you need to go buy some cookies. None of us had even thought about buying cookies but Axel said they were so good people queue for hours for them! So we decided to join the queue. Fortunately it was only 30 mins long. The queue is well organised and felt part of the experience of waiting for something really special. The staff who worked in the shop and who managed the queue were very friendly. If you have a small child with you get them to ask where the secret door is- magical. The cookies are all freshly baked and served warm. They are beautifully packaged. Are they worth the 2 Euros each and more importantly the time taken to queue? I enjoyed the experience as I had people to chat to that I’d not seen for years and the time taken to queue added to the sense of occasion. There was a girl in the queue with us that worked locally and said she was on her lunch break- not sure I’d do that everyday but it was enjoyable none the less.

Saw this on TikTok and it’s absolutely worth it. They only do one cookie really good! It’s 2 for €5 for 6 for €12.50. The line looks big but it moves quickly. We went mid-day and only queued about 10 minutes. They’re served warm in a lovely presentation box, or there’s an option to pay more to have them in a souvenir tin. Join the hype, it’s kinda fun.

So glad we found this place! Stumbled across it and couldn’t miss it for the queue of around 4/5 people outside, very quick though took less than 5 minutes to be served. The staff were all very friendly and the place itself is beautiful. The cookies are like nothing I’ve ever tasted before. So fresh and warm. Intense flavour of gooey chocolate, crispy around the edges and then with a creamy white chocolate filling. Delicious! Also the little box and bag they come in with a handy little note with instructions on how to reheat them! We would definitely recommend this place and will be visiting again!

This small bakery only makes one thing and they do it wonderfully! They make a chocolate cookie that not only has that slight snap when you bite it, but it is moist and full of chocolate goodness. It is like eating a delicious brownie in a cookie form. There is always a line outside of the shop, but it moves quickly and is well managed by the staff working there. Do yourself a favor and make this a stop while you are in Amsterdam.

We love to bake, and this is the first bakery we've been to that the cookies are as good as homemade. Don't miss them, they are absolutely delicious. Bring a friend so you can buy more than just your allotment of 8.

They have been open for about 7 years, and they only make one thing, which are these chocolate cookies with a white chocolate center. They once also served coffee, but stopped after two years as people only wanted the cookies. You have to stand in a long line (about 20ish minutes in June) to wait to get into the store, and then are only allowed 8 cookies per person. They bake them right there and that means your cookies are fresh and warm from the oven.

One last thing: the cookies come boxed in very cute boxes and then in a bag, which makes them great for gifts--but you'll want to eat them yourself.

Luckily, having the hotel in the building next to the shop allowed us to avoid the kilometre-long queue that is created to try these biscuits. In any case, it's worth it. The biscuits are delicious and really look like homemade ones. Excellent filling, excellent fragrance. A must see in Amsterdam!
