A great way to see the light festival currently on in Amsterdam. The boat we had was captained by the wonderful Rick & Niels who explained points of interest and the amazing artwork that made up the light festival. Our boat was cosy and only seated about 20 people so you weren't made to feel like human cattle or frozen in the Amsterdam air on an open topped boat.
Overall with all boating options available to you, a smaller more personal experience with Friendship Amsterdam is definitely the best choice!

Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Amsterdam. We did the luxury boat tour and thoroughly enjoyed it, the guides were ace and really made it. The cruise had a personal feel, there was only about 12 guests and at any point we could interrupt the guide and ask a question. There is a nice bar onboard and for the whole cruise we wrapped up under the blankets provided! It was the same price as the large “tourist trap” boats and because the boat was smaller we went down canals the big tourist boats couldn’t!
This is the first touristy thing we did and in hindsight it was a great move as we saw a lot of Amsterdam, got our bearings and got lots of knowledge from the Amsterdam born and bred tour guides!

the skipper and his really really funny jokes, 12/10 would boat again, best cruise in Europe.
Byron (aka Reckful) and his friends had a really really good time on this boat, and they live streamed it for us, their viewers. and it was magical.

My rating is low due to a few reasons. Our tour was delayed due to mechanical issues. I am not removing a star for this issue. We chose an earlier tour and was delayed until 8:30pm which I make up contributed to a rowdier crowd. The boat was overfilled and initially we were asked to sit at the front of the boat under the plastic, clouded, low clearance cover. Initially we could only lay down. After advocating for ourselves the crew opened one window which did allow us to sit upright. The tour guide was reminded a few times to describe the illuminated art due to bartending to a party crowd on the boat with us. The Christmas lights were very underwhelming and few and far between.
I would have preferred a smaller boat, smaller crowd, and the ability to sit comfortably. Basically, the tours redeeming aspects were once we were able to see and sit upright the views of Amsterdam at night was beautiful.

The trip was great!
Not only Ed, our captain, but also the hostesses Angela and Maaike told us so many interesting stuff during the cruise. Also we saw the most amazing areas of Amsterdam aaand because of this cruise we got way better understanding of Amsterdam and it‘s canals. The hostesses were absolutely adorable and very obliging. They took pictures of everyone and were just so so so nice.
To sum it up - it was totally worth the money and we‘d recommend this canal cruise highly! Absolutely worth it - 10/10 🇳🇱

We booked the Friendship Light Festival cruise and we loved it. Angela was our guide and Petre was our captain. Both were brilliant, especially Angela.
She made sure we were all comfortable, warm and cosy. Offering us drinks alongside her vast knowledge of the city.
The weather wasn't great, so the boat had the top on, but a few of us opened it up to see the installations, not caring if we got wet.
Would highly recommend!!

Even if you already know amsterdam, it is very nice to experience the city from the canals. Our captain Freek told many interesting details about the beautiful buildings as he carefully guided our ship through the busy water. And on top of that, he amused us with some jokes.

My wife and I booked this canal cruise hoping it would be a smaller boat with a more intimate experience, as opposed to a large boat with 50 other travellers. The experience we were hoping for was exactly what we got with Friendship Amsterdam. Our boat captain, Rick & Hostess, Emma were very welcoming & knowledgeable about the history of Amsterdam. All n all this a definite recommendation.
If you're looking for an smaller company with a more intimate experience, look no further. You won't be disappointed.

Took an evening trip on a smaller boat with the drinks package and can’t recommend it enough! Luckily it stopped raining so we rolled the plastic up and had great views of the canal, the boat was cosy and everyone had somewhere to sit - if you’re in a group definitely get there early to make sure you can all sit together! We found the luxury drinks package to be great value for money.
The highlight for us was the service from our tour guide & captain Carlie and Pablo ! They were amazing - always made sure we had a drink (or a shot!) and answered all our questions and gave us lots of recommendations to enjoy the city. They had great anecdotes about the city and the light festival
We took the 9pm trip from the red light district and it was the highlight of our trip! Thanks guys

We chose the open bar ticket with Rick and Daphne as a couple. Both were entertaining and excellent hosts, and we had a great time. The open bar ticket comes with beer, wine, and soft/hot drinks. The boat was comfortable and drinks were plentiful. Very informative and fun and a good value.
