The bikes are in great condition. Our guide, Jeff, was funny and knowledgeable about the city. He was attentive to our safety and made sure everyone had a great time. The tour through the city was beautiful, fun, and informative. We traveled in a group of 9 bikers. This group size allowed everyone on the tour to get to know... More

I work for a travel company that takes young people around Europe, and we use Mikes bikes regularly. Passengers always have the best time on their tours. Recently we had Daniel and he was fantastic. Super friendly and warm with all the passengers and also really informative and engaging. Thanks guys!!!

What a fantastic trip. Not sure what we expected, but exceeded our expectations. The guide was brilliant, kept the large group well informed and safe in the parts of the town we had to cycle through and was informative. Brilliant value for money and a great way to see the outskirts of Amsterdam. Would definitely recommend. Make sure you allow... More

This was a great way to see the country side of Amsterdam and also some of the city. Even though bike riding around the city seems like the scariest thing ever, it wasn't. Our guide Daniel was very helpful and funny too. Highly recommend any of these tours!

I joined the tour solo as I was in Amsterdam on a business trip and had an extra day. My tour guide was Girl Mike and she was amazing. The tour itself of the clog and cheese factory were a great yet touristy attraction, but Girl Mike, with her upbeat personality was great at showing us some bike paths outside... More

Such a fun tour, would definitely recommend! Karl was an excellent guide, very engaging, funny and knowledgeable. It was a great way to see a bit of the country and really get a chance to enjoy the surrounding areas. The bikes are in great condition and very easy to use. Also, it is a great deal for about $30, remember... More

We did a bike tour with Diego for my cousins hen do and it was so much fun. Ideal way to see the city and Diego was an amazing guide, taking us on a bar crawl of the city while amusing our rather raucous group along the way. Definitely worth doing as the tour provides a safe route of the... More

Amsterdam by bike is probably the most enjoyable way to discover the city - Jeff supplied us with a lot of interesting bits and Bytes - not the standard "this church was built in ..." information, u forget by turning round the next corner! We really had fun and can recommend this tour without limitation! THANKS JEFF

Mikes Bike Tours is a great way to see the sights and streets of the city. The tour guides speak English and have great knowledge of history and culture... including the quirky stuff that is unique to Amsterdam. You must be reasonably confident on a bike however.

I have been on this tour multiple times, and was really disappointed this time around. But I think it had most to do with our guide Diego. He went too fast (many times leaving the group behind as he crossed streets), he did not provide much information to the areas we were seeing, and was genuinely not friendly. If you... More

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighborhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
