Amsterdam is best explored by water, and this affordable boat cruise gives you unobstructed views of canal-side attractions like the Anne Frank House and Hermitage Museum. The boat’s small size and comfortable seating mean you won't be jostled by crowds, and you can enjoy unlimited Heineken beer, wine, and soft drinks while gliding through Amsterdam’s UNESCO-listed waterways.

This is a great place to learn about prostitution history in Amsterdam. It does a good job of providing a glimpse of how the life of a Red District sex worker is like. If you are visiting be prepared for narrow hallways and small rooms. This can get a little uncomfortable if visiting during the summer months. There was no A/C the night we visited (August night) and it was hot and crowded in there (before COVID-19 times). I remember most of the museum in low-light and it gives a proper atmosphere for the theme. However, if you are claustrophobic take that under consideration along with the number of visitors, and the small size rooms. The Musem seems small from the outside, but do not be mislead like I was, the Museum has much more to show than what you might expect. The staff was friendly and very welcoming of tourists. We received a free small Museum booklet highlighting the most popular features and it makes a great Museum souvenir. The museum features a room resembling a movie theater showing a short film. You can also see the office that ran the entire building that served as a brothel. You will also see the room where a sex worker was murdered and it still remains an unsolved mystery. There is also a "lost and found" section where you can see all the items left behind at the old brothel.

Took my boyfriend here on our last day, we both enjoyed it even though I had been before! Woman at the front was very lovely, walk around didn’t take long either. Wasn’t too bothered by price of the ticket as it’s something you must do when visiting Amsterdam!

Pretty disappointing, you can go through it into 25-30 minutes. It mostly presents current "extreme" behaviors and not an history of the district.

An interesting museum, but very transphobic language, especially on the "secret question" about whether there are "men behind the windows". From a museum that is supposedly this openminded i found it more than disappointing and it should be easy for them to fix this.

Dear csplwn, I would like to respond to your feedback. I know what ‘secret question’ you mean. We are aware this is an important topic and want to treat this with respect. We are in touch with the trans sex workers in the Red Light District and asked their feedback about this. They told us that they are okay with this explanation. That is to us the most important thing, because we are telling their story. We are aware the language (on this topic) can differ per country or culture, but we are doing our best to explain it in the most respectful way. Of course, we are interested in your feedback. You can also contact us by mail: info@redlightsecrets.com Kind regards, Natascha Museum of Prostitution – Red Light Secrets

It was a very nice tour, audio guide for free in many languages. Is very interesting to listen how the prostitution is in Amsterdam. They recreate everything. It was a surprise for me, so interesting.
