The world famous and former brothel Yab Yum...

The world famous and former brothel Yab Yum opens its doors to a wider audience.

The well-known 17th-century building with the green lantern on the 'Singel' in Amsterdam has been transformed into a fascinating concept: YAB YUM Unlocked.

Recently, the genuine YAB YUM feeling is brought back to life.

YAB YUM Unlocked is a wonderful exhibition and a 'Real Life Club Experience' at the same time. YAB YUM Unlocked takes you back to the years during which YAB YUM was famous all over the world.

How it all came about, who visited and why was the club so popular?

You'll visit the luxurious bar and famous 'caviar room', you'll see how founder Theo Heuft ever got the idea and how the club became one of the biggest status symbols for straight arrows and hoodlums alike. It also takes you behind the

scenes of this well-organized company, a booming enterprise with an annual turnover of millions.

I really enjoyed visiting yab yum and getting a glimpse into what must have been an incredible time. Mitch showed us round and was so informative and friendly. The place has been preserved excellently and is still just as grand today. So pleased I visited. Would highly recommend as completely different to what you see and expect from the red... More

Yab Yum is a brilliant museum and a must visit when in Amsterdam! Mitch who was the manager for 20+ years is superb and needless to say fantastically knowledgeable! The building is exactly as it was in the days when the brothel was open with the rooms, bar, reception etc remaining true to its former glory days. There are informative... More

Have been coming to Amsterdam for over 20 years, so thought we'd seen most of it's best attractions. How wrong we were! Our hostess was very friendly & knowledgeable, but just left us to explore the wonders for ourselves. If you've ever wondered what a proper old school 'gentleman's club' really is like inside, then this is for you. Great... More

We really weren't too sure what to expect from Yab Yum, but we were so glad we decided to take a look inside. As far as Brothels go, this place would have been as good as it could get. The decor was amazing with no expense spared. There was a very 'Elite' feel to the place and you clearly needed... More

We went here twice at different times and days and during their opening hours but it was not open and no sign letting you know why they were closed.

We had a good chuckle here at the quality of the exhibits/plastic girls, other than that there wasn't much on offer. Place is run by the guy who used to manage the brothel, he comes across as a bit creepy. The entire story of the place seems like it's trying to justify that it shouldn't have been shut down! Probably... More

Is a very interesting place. The ex manager of the place is now the guide. He told us interesting stories about the girls who worked there, clients, most of them public figures. That place may be a story for a film or a book.

Welcomed and guided by the manager Mitch who has worked there for 20 years! I'm sure he could tell a tale or two... Thought it would be a bit seedy but wasn't in the slightest, interesting to see how the super rich spent their money... Definately worth a visit!!
