Neighborhood: Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

A great place for to have a priavate Party. Lovely buiding with so much history. Had a great live band people were up onto the dance floor as soon as they played. The staff were so friendly. A great venue to dance.
An amazing evening.

We liked:
- The place
- The room (we were sea view in a suite)
- The swimming pools, in particular for the babies
- Feeling of not being in a crowed place
- Staff
- 45' from the airport
- Restaurants, food variety
We would have liked:
- a 2nd restaurant-buffet: there, is the crowd, and kitchen was not able to follow

De Rode Hoed is a location that's famous as the studio for several TV shows. But it is also a very convenient location for larger meetings. We had both 'auditorium' style seating, and separate round tables for, errr.. round-table discussions. The catering for the lunches was surprisingly good.

- bad coffee
- sometimes difficult to find the rooms
- can't take drinks outside
- room 1st Floor front Side was a sauna

The Rode Hoed (the Red Hat) is a non-catholic hidden church named Vrijburg that was built in Amsterdam in 1630, on the location of an old hat factory. It got the name De Rode Hoed when it became a cultural centre in 1989 led by the dissident catholic priest Huub Oosterhuis.
I attended the first Economy lecture organised by Elsevier's magazine in De Rode Hoed with the rather eminent and visionary speaker Ben van Beurden, CEO of Shell. Editor-in-chief Arendo Joustra was notably nervous but it all went well, including the rather mild protest by environmental action group "Je Moeder" (Your mother), referring to mother Earth. A very nice evening in a very nice venue.

It is a very special building which can be used in many ways, from congresses to parties. Magic but the building will adjust.. in a way.

I saw this building during a boat tour. It was explained to have been an important building at one point. From the boat it looked like the rest of the buildings.

Ok venue for a 200 people conference. Lunch average, coffee crap, good pilsener on tap. One of the rooms was a sauna. Too few toilets. Not allowed to take a cup of coffee outside. Good wifi

I'm unclear whether anyone can just stop in here or not. Our bike tour said they had arranged ofr us to see it. Either way, if you're in the area, it's worth a 10 minute stop. Interesting history as to why this secret church is here and they still hold church on Sundays.
