You could easily spend hours here. Find the perfect peace of mind whenever you're having a busy day. The personell is super friendly and knowlegdeable. Be sure to bring friends in, who doesn't like a cup of tea after all. Would definitely recommend to everyone looking for an escape from the crowds, while not being far away from the city centre.

My daughter and I took a workshop. We learned so much about tea, how to really brew a cup of tea and we tasted different types of tea. Very nice people, eager to teach you all about tea.

The good:
Nice owners. Small but good selection of teas. Good quality, tasted fresh. Owners are very knowledgeable about Chinese tea and processing and very willing to educate about it.
The questionable:
Tea is served in the traditional gaiwan but they have to come to your table and take it away to refill it for you each time you finish it. To those who are familiar with gaiwans, you know that they are small, so having to wait to have it refilled for me when empty was annoying. Might be ok if i was drinking alone, or sitting at a bar near the hot water. However, I was at a table upstairs sharing two gaiwans with someone so we could each taste 2 teas. This made the gaiwans empty even faster.
The bad:
The least pleasant thing about the experience was that it wasn't advertised on the menu or shared with us, but every gaiwan hot water refill is 1 euro. That is a very steep price and I've never seen that done. We paid 4.75 euro for only 3 grams of tea, and then 5 euro for the 5 hot water refills. Very very expensive.
I would have at least liked to have the option to have a teapot and resteep myself. It would be nice also, for newbies to be able to learn to use a gaiwan and practice pouring it. I think that would be a better business model. People like an interactive experience. Or tea drinkers who know about tea might like to control the flavor by how long they steep on their own since it is personal.
Overall, I learned some new things about tea and the owners were hospitable and enrhusiastic. Nice space. Some tea ware on sale at reasonable prices for retail. We also tried a black sesame homemade cookie which was very nice.
Just didn't like the unadvertised charges and steep price.

Thank you for your review! The price for the hot and filtered water refill is written on our menu and board. We will stress this from now on.
Many customers are not used to brew tea with a gaiwan. On your request, this is always possible of course.
It was nice speaking to you and share a lot of our tea knowledge with you. Hope to welcome you again!

We stumbled upon this place when we arrived to Amsterdam and I was looking for a tea to settle my stomach. Initially, I was put off by the prices of the tea for a 'cup' (around E3-5) but after the owner explained which tea she thought would be best for me we decided to stay. We are so glad we did! You are not paying for a 'cup' of tea, you are paying for the whole experience. We tried the ginseng tea which was presented to us on a little tray with three cups, one with the tea leaves, one with the brew, and a small one to pour the tea in to. We were told all about the tea and how it is brewed, and we could get free refills. We chatted to the owner all about her interest in tea and about Amsterdam, and in return told her all about Ireland (where we are from). The shop itself is decorated beautifully in traditional Chinese decor and there was Chinese music playing in the background. It was exactly what we needed after a long morning of travelling, and we left feeling great! I would highly recommend paying this shop a visit. It is a hidden gem!

This is really a nice place to enjoy a great cup of tea. The owners are really nice and warm people and they will take their time to teach you everything you want know about their products. I just grabed a cup to go and even at that time they were willing to take time and tell you something about your choice, if wished. Btw. even if its unbelievable hot outside a warm cup of tea will cool you down. So, dont think that this is nothing for the summer months. I can easily say, if I would live in Amsterdam, I would regulary visit this place.

I was walking on my way to the Foodhallen when I saw a Green Tea ice cream sign and I immediately walk into the shop. I'm a big fan of matcha in all varieties and I was having a sweet tooth for matcha ice cream, but was not able to find any place selling it, perfect timing! The owner was very friendly and explained me it was homemade ice cream. It was creamy, not so sweet and with a rich matcha flavor, delicious! Very recommendable!
