I was in Magna Plaza few days ago. We were curious about food hall on the top floor. They have very tasty pizza there, 3.50 Euro for really big slice. If you need to use toilet you have to pay 1 Euro but they will give you voucher for 1 Euro discount in restaurants in hall. Lovely cheese shop on ground floor, there are so many cheese samples to try. Nice place for shopping and quick lunch.

Cool building from the outside but under serious renovation inside. Only like 5 shops in the whole building, but signs everywhere for toilet on 2nd floor, nothing notating that you actually have to pay for the bathroom until you get all the way up there through stairs due to construction. Maybe put that on the sign on the main level before making people go to the hassle of getting up there just to be disappointed. Can’t see the point of making people pay to use the bathroom in a building that’s basically empty as is.

We stopped in the Magna Plaza to warm up on a cold winter day and stayed for longer than we had planned. The shops had beautiful merchandise, the food court had a fun range of choices, and the building was festive for the holidays. We especially enjoyed a tart from the Petit Gateau.

Will be great when it's finally full. Beautiful building which was the main post office in Amsterdam. Needs better signage and more shops/restaurants/bars to fill the empty lots. If you are going to use toilets on second floor there is a charge.

Architecturally this is a very impressive building in Neo-Gothic and Neo-Renaissance style and was built in 1895 to 1899.

It was previously Amsterdam's Main Post Office.

It is now a shopping mall.

This building is heritage listed so will be preserved for future generations.

The surrounding area though is a mess and looks like there is tram works occurring.

I’m not sure whether this is newly opened or has fallen out of favour. The building itself is beautiful but it can hardly be called a shopping centre as there are very few shops. If it’s newly opened I hope that it fills up soon as it has great potential

Are the best malls those with outstanding architectural design? Perhaps one could apply that here, in which great shopping and dining is housed in a magnificent work of historic design. See my photo for proof. I didn’t actually enter, but I felt tempted to after stumbling upon it while wandering Amsterdam. Next visit!

The building is beautiful however there is absolutely nothing inside. There are still removable signs advertising amazing food on the 2nd floor but not one food outlet to be seen. Only a couple of shops remain. About 90% empty.

Magna Plaza is an indoor shopping centre located in the former Amsterdam Main Post Office and a historical building just behind the Royal Palace.

The the building itself is an attraction, being a building listed in Top 100 Dutch heritage sites. Built in a beautiful mix of Neo-Gothic, Renaissance and Dutch Colonial Revival styles. The exterior is demonstrates the use of Neo-Gothic and Dutch Colonial exterior, with it's log souring lines and gambrel roof, beautifully complemented with an eye-catching stone decoration of polychromatic bricks and detailed in dressed stone,

The Magna Plaza is a lovely place to shop and as you can imagine from it's location, also an upper end shopping destination. The interiors are just as beautiful as the exterior, with a central hall with galleries on each floor surrounded by Renaissance style arcades of polychromic curved arches. The central atrium is crowned by a sunroof that gives the who interior a nice warm orange glow.

As for the shopping, can't go wrong visiting the Magna Plaza. I came here to buy some gifts to take back home and I highly recommend Cheese & More by Henri Willig.

The historic facade of this grand building has been fully preserved and inside, there is enough to tempt the budding shopaholic. The range of outlets is slightly disappointing, however and the prices rather high.
