About
The Smallest House in Amsterdam is not only the smallest house in town, it is a lovely tea shop as well. With its vast collection of loose tea's and selected coffees, this tiny teahouse is a must-do for every tea lover. And if you really want to treat yourself, book a lunch or high tea in the tea room upstairs, the smallest tea room in Amsterdam. Unique experience guaranteed! Located in one of the oldest streets of central Amsterdam and around the corner of the Red Light district. With its typical Amsterdam bell-gable, this house is a miniature version of the majestic canal-side houses Amsterdam is so famous for. The Smallest House is only 2.02 Meter (6 ft., 7.5 In.) wide, 5 meters deep.

You have to book this . We were lucky to go on a quiet Monday afternoon so we got in without reservation , we were lucky as they can only seat two couples maximum and I’ve been told it’s very busy . For your money you get a choice of Tea and cake, some history about the building from a very nice lady from Dundee. On top of this whilst you’re sat there you’re away from the world in what is a very quaint building . There are some good photo opportunities both upstairs and in the shop.
It’s rare that I do something and think “That was cheap “ . When my girlfriend told me how much it was I thought that was each not for both (I was wrong). Also for sale downstairs are a vast array of teas for the connoisseur.
I will post some pics I took , once I get back to Uk

We went to celebrate our fifth Anniversary and it was just the loveliest part our trip to Amsterdam. The staff were very welcoming, the place was very calming in the middle of the live full, busy and loud Amsterdam and the Atmosphere was magical. The Tea it self takes you to a journey with each sip, everything was extremely delicious and Niel's famous Apple pie was worth the trip. Plus the hard the most delicious Carrot Cake I tasted in my life.
The Conversation we had with Niel and his Scottish friend added insight and beauty to our visit, I'll be definitely there again and I would always recommend Tea Salons fan and explorers to visit the Smallest House of Amsterdam.

I booked a table here for myself and my friend on our recent visit to Amsterdam. We loved it! Everything was so quaint like a tea room should be. We had the whole room to ourselves and such an amazing selection of tea to choose from. The package of tea and apple pie was very reasonably priced and the apple pie was delicious and homemade. They even accommodated a vegan option of small cakes for me which I really appreciated. Anne-Marie was very welcoming, friendly and knowledgable about the house itself. We will hopefully be back again soon!

We recently visited Amsterdam and this was one of the most magical parts of our trip! We were welcomed like friends and shown to the second floor where we had a private table for brunch. The owners were so kind and helpful, it was really interesting to learn all about the house and traditional Dutch meals. The tea and brunch was absolutely delicious, we can’t recommend it enough. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Amsterdam, it was the perfect way to spend the morning! Thank you so much :)

This was such a wonderful find. Kirsten and her husband Niles were so hospitable. We learned all about the history of the building while enjoying a lovely cup of tea and a slice of homemade apple pie. Finding and enjoying this place was the highlight of the day for us!

We fell upon this delightful little tearoom as we were wondering around the streets of Amsterdam with friends and I’m so glad we did. It has to be one of the quaintest little tea rooms I have ever seen. The owner could not have been more accommodating and along with our tea / coffee and the most delicious apple pie, he shared the history of the house with us. The whole experience was one we will always remember and we will definitely be visiting again in the future.

We popped into this quaint little tea shop as we ambled through the streets of Amsterdam and what a pleasure it was. Niels was incredibly friendly, talking us through the history of the place and giving us the lowdown on all the teas they offer. We left with a bag of the house blend (on Niels' recommendation) and it is one of the nicest teas we've had the pleasure to taste. We wish we'd have tried the tearoom upstairs - something we'll definitely do next time we're in Amsterdam!

Really worth booking for this experience. Beautiful home made cakes and selection of teas to chose from. Beautiful settings in the two rooms. Well worth a visit.
Only disappointment was no soap in the bathroom
