I have been very remiss in not adding this review. We went on Naomi's tour on August 18th and there is nothing that I can add that has not already been said in the reviews. The tour was outstanding - both my husband and I learned a lot - and would HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone wanting to learn... More

Naomi Koopman was wonderful tour guide. Her knowledge is vast. She told us so much history of the Jewish life in Amsterdam and it was sooo interesting. There is a lot of fascinating history and we were glad to know more about Jewish life especially around the time when the oldest synagogues in The Netherlands were built. I would recommend... More

Naomi Koopmans' walking tour enlightened my understanding of what it was and is like to be Jewish in The Netherland, including during World War 2. Her knowledge of past history and her great communication skills were valuable skills that made the walking tour a memorable experience. We went to different Jewish places, among which included an historical synagogue, Jewish Museum... More

As a jew who traveled with 2 non-jewish friends, it was very emotional and beautiful to have this Jewish tour.

Naomi was recommended to be by friends. She is a lovely woman who is very thoughtful, knowledgeable and communicates her love and respect for what being a Jew in Amsterdam has meant. I recommend this tour and felt closer to the city after taking it.

We took a private tour with Naomi with our two children 12&15. Naomi tailored the tour to suit our needs. She is extremely knowledgable and engaging and managed to cover so much if the history of Jews in Amsterdam, the deportation and extermination and the current community in Amsterdam. An excellent guide. We would highly recommend this tour.

Naomi guided us on a wonderful three hour tour which never let up in pace or interest, she is super articulate, excellently trained in Jewish and Dutch history and just a wonderful guide all the way around! When we first signed up I thought three hours seemed like a long tour but it essentially gets in what would take you... More

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighborhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
